LXY-642 Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 Got a few to load up :) just waiting on my laptop to decide to work. Can't get the links I want for the pics using my photobucket app Quote
ninja-philbo Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 nice man love it wanna sell the turbo setup haha Quote
LXY-642 Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 well, i'm actually going to be working out with me mate that owns protig and setting up a k turbo kit :) thinking of having both low mount and high mount option's and efi plenum's complete with fuel rail. depending on interest. Quote
LXY-642 Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 (edited) picture time :) where the car is being kept in storage, under cover :laff: love the smoothness down the passenger side when you take the dented guard out of the picture look got a little bit of camber there, and brand new front tires :lolcry: hmm... seat's seen better day i think. i can stick my arm right through and touch the floor of the car haha. also got 3 blackout gauges when i got the car, boost, oil pressure and temp. best i could get of the exhaust manifold. these 3 are taken mostly for you Si. notice where the turbo flange is coming from and how poorly this manifold would be flowing. i reckon a j pipe would work better lol, but this is alot more simple and less of a stuff around at least :lolcry: down pipe battery relocation wiring, would like to tidy this up or hide it. boost gauge vacuum line, kinda long. kinked up line, and held kinked by a cable tie... think it's fuel return? or for charcoal canister? i never bothered looking lol. cable ties for your accelerator anyone? old school thermo fan. going to get a new one and mount on the engine bay side, so i have room for a cooler ;) oil feed line pretty sure all ebay turbo's are oil only cooled? i know all monsta ones are. i need to hook up some water lines, don't like leaving these open ;) is this a secondary fuel feed line? accelerator cable linkage is pretty close to the carby base found the coil to dizzy lead in the glovebox, also, yes that's a malpassi carby rrfpr :) engine bay also came with this rx7 12at fuel reg went to pull out the cig lighter and well, this happened lol. no screws holding it in at all :( found this under the car at the fuel tank :) looks like already got a lift pump hooked up for the surge tank that will be going in. this is the brand spankers fuel pump that came with the car. was going to use this as the lift pump. but now????? got that boost gauge out from behind the dash, will use the drift blackout gauge in the car. the malpassi that came with the car. and the malpassi sitting with my one from the other turbo setup i have, to see they are clearly the same :) let me know what you all think??? Taz_Rx Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 Is that the 15 pin (VGA) to 10 pin (serial) lead to connect your laptop to the ECU? I tried to find mine on the weekend as I was going to have a play with the tune but I seem to have lost it and the serial>USB too...... $180 worth of cables! :) If I paid for postage both ways, any chance I could borrow it off you? And if you've got one of these.... http://wolfems.cart.net.au/details/106560.html You could sent it to me too and I'd load you my map onto it to get you started. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 best i could get of the exhaust manifold. these 3 are taken mostly for you Si. notice where the turbo flange is coming from and how poorly this manifold would be flowing. i reckon a j pipe would work better lol, but this is alot more simple and less of a stuff around at least :) Pics are too dark, can't really see anyhting! battery relocation wiring, would like to tidy this up or hide it. Just get yourself a platic battery box and either put it there or re-wire it to the boot. Tip - buy the battery box from a marine shop for like $12. The same thing will cost you at least $25 from autobarn etc. kinked up line, and held kinked by a cable tie... think it's fuel return? or for charcoal canister? i never bothered looking lol. There's an alloy fuel line about half the size of the main one and runs paralel to it which is orginally connected to the charcoil canister. You're going to need a return line to use with the proper reg, so I'd reccomend running a new 3/8" rubber line as a new send to the engine bay and use the old one as a return. The stock return is just too small to even think about using. pretty sure all ebay turbo's are oil only cooled? i know all monsta ones are. i need to hook up some water lines, don't like leaving these open :lolcry: Nah those T25/T28 hybrid things are all water cooled too. Easy to hook it in line with the heater core. is this a secondary fuel feed line? Return line or you can run it to another carby if running twins. also came with this rx7 12at fuel reg Chuck it. When you go EFI you'll need an adjustable one anyway. found this under the car at the fuel tank :laff: looks like already got a lift pump hooked up for the surge tank that will be going in. That might be the dead facet the previous owned spoke about. this is the brand spankers fuel pump that came with the car. was going to use this as the lift pump. but now????? I'd buy it off you if you don't use it!!! the malpassi that came with the car. Did you know you were getting that one? Quote
LXY-642 Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 The stuffed facet is sitting in the passenger front footwell. It was mounted in the engine bay. Will also check that lead for you man. Yeah there isn't any light's in the carport. Will take a torch with me next weekend to get better pics. No flash on my phone camera :laff: The fuel reg he mentioned it not long before I picked the car up. Said he found it laying around. Dang was hoping the turbo was better. Did you notice the hole in the actuator? Will most likely move the battery to in the back. And glad to know can get those boxes cheaper :) that new fuel pump. Should I use it for the lift? Or after the surge tank? Quote
Taz_Rx Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 Just the little hole in the back side of the actuator? If thats what you mean it just a breather port otherwise the back of the actuator would pressureise. Whats the part number on the Carter? Should be four numbers. Quote
LXY-642 Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 I think was 9-888 or 888-6? Any of the. Sound right? That was just a little sticker that was in the box? And thanks always wondered about the actuator with two fittings Quote
ninja-philbo Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 yeah bro pics are so dark, doin a turbo build on my 4k in the next few weeks so happy Quote
LXY-642 Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 Also no don't have one of those memory sticks. But thinking it would be worthwhile grabbing one? Quote
LXY-642 Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 yeah bro pics are so dark, doin a turbo build on my 4k in the next few weeks so happy Will make sure I bring a torch with me next weekend for sure. And try again. Otherwise I might just pull of the whole inlet lol. Had no tools with me :) but taking them there next weekend. Gotta change those front seats lol Quote
Taz_Rx Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 Yeah the sticks are handy. I sent mine to Madrolla68 in perth to originally get a map on mine, made life a bit easier base mapping it. You can also store a second tune on them, then you just go into the ECU setting and click "Run ECU from cartridge" and it'll run that second map. It look like the Carter is a 4594 which is 72GHP at around 6-8PSI. Hence its no good for a pressure pump (like how I used to run the Carter black (4601)). So its only good for a lift pump. If you want to use the facet, I'll buy the carter as my new lift pump!!! Surely used have an old VL main pump laying around somewhere? Quote
LXY-642 Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 Yeah I'm going use the fuel pump that's in the vl now. It's already been used to max standard vlt 270cc x6 injectors and about 200-220rwkw in the vl. So no doubt it'll have plenty of flow for the rolla no matter how far I push it lol. Sounds good about the stick. I reckon I'll buy one after I get back from qld. From now till then though gotta save for qld. Then it's focus on getting the two blue 36's regoed :) Quote
