So I'm thinking about running a tipping competition, just for fun, based on all motorsports for this year. Obviously a few events have gone already but things really start to ramp up this month and theres still a good 8 months worth of Motorsport to go. I'm hoping we can tip on at least one event a week. I'm thinking events like F1, WRC, V8 Supercars, Super GT and MotoGP will be included regularly with some other less well known events filling in the gaps. For the winner(s) I've got some RC stickers (yay!).

 

Points wise, the format may change slightly depending on how many events we cover that week but I think it will be like this. You pick the 1st 2nd and 3rd. For each of those that are in the top 3 you get a point. For each of those in the correct position you get a bonus point and if you get all 3 in the correct order you get another bonus point. So that would give you a total of 7 points for picking the podium in the absolute correct order. Along with that then there might be a couple of extra "random" questions such as, Who will qualify 1st (or Xth), who will finish Xth, who will crash out first, how many cars will DNF etc. Maybe bonus points if you pick an Aussie or a Toyota and they win? I'll make sure I make the scoring clear for each week.

 

People are welcome to join and leave as they choose throughout the year. Theres no need to signup, you can enter any week just by submitting an entry. Entries will be posted in a special forum with all replies on mod review so they'll be hidden until entries close. Then you can discuss peoples picks over the weekends motorsport in another thread.

The Virtual Team things are good fun. Somewhat like tipping. You get a salary cap and have to pick a team of 4 drivers and 4 cars and you get points based on their performance. You can swap people during the year if you can afford them.

You can set up a 'league' for a group of people (or forum).

I'd actually love to do something like that, but I'm a bit short on time to code something for Rollaclub to have it ready in time. Not real keen on integrating someone elses comp either. Maybe next year :no2:
