Super Jamie Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 you are. it's happened to most of the ke30-55 owners i consider close personal friends Quote
kangaroosa Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 (edited) Yep, its happened to me with the standard aisan carb. I switched it off and saw the tacho needle falling from 8000rpm. Then with the twin SU's i didnt have the linkages adjusted properly. Some P plater tosser in a shitty old BMW was giving me the shits, so i slammed the loud pedal to the floor in 2nd gear and it actually moved the linkages and jammed the carbs wide open. My new tacho only goes to 8000rpm, and once i switched it off, I saw it falling from that figure too. Not fun either time. *EDIT Wow, this topic has gone from discussing the rear of the car.......right up to the front of the car. Edited August 30, 2005 by kangaroosa Quote
mikeys toy[RL] Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 awwwww so what? i had this happen in the cricket due to the engine ground going bad and the starter pulling a ground from the throttle cable, thus welding it to the housing Quote
Xany Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 yup.....happened to me on the highway, throttle fully open, acclerating in 4th gear......got to about 140kph before all my stomping/bashing on the pedal got the f@$ker free.....the thought crossed my mind to turn if off....but i thought...meh i've been faster than this....lol Quote
Felix Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 yep, i've had a frayed cable jam when i used to have my ke30. i have a ke70 cable that has a the inner cable plastic coated at the end. no chance of fraying. just need to drill the hole in the linkage oversized as the knob on the end of the cable is larger.
