Because I am a complete novice at anything electrical (I stay away if it has leads, plugs, looms etc) I was curious as to how one would go about converting a non-tacho instrument cluster to a tacho one.

Now, at the local wreckers, I've seen a couple of tacho clusters hanging around and was wondering what the go was in terms of wiring them in, in place of the current one and if anybody on here had done so recently/prior to me asking.

It's for an AE92, so does it make this any different to any other model?

Cheers :jamie:

Twincam.org.au is the place to go

Twincam.org is now owned by an American f@$kwit who pissed off all the old members who then left to form the .org.au, thus leaving Twincam.org as a shell inhabited only by tumbleweeds and people who only want to flog-off shit.

Car manufacturers like to keep plugs and things the same, you may find that there is a tacho signal wire already terminated into one of the plugs that go into your current dash. So it could be as easy as plug and play. The thing to do would be to grab one of the clusters and compare it to the one that's in your car, and then go from there.
