I've bought yet another 3k. It makes 3 in the collection. I've also got 2 sets of pistons and a set of bearings. My plan is to make a really revvy 3k.

My question is..this engine appears to have air pump type injector holes, blanked off with bolts. Numbers suggest a small port head. Does any one know if 3k's came out with air injection to the exhaust manifolds?

Not that I'm saying it's a bad thing, but why do you want to work a 3K/collect 3K's rather than the 5K or 7K route?

Cheap and easy.

Also, I like the fact the plate in my car says 3k. I only do standard! 5k and 7k sound good, but I want a square motor, 'cause they love to rev!

Boo,

In regards to the "air injection" dads old Toyota Liteace KM20 had the air injection engine - only it was a 4k. With that too, it still had the injectors and air rail attached, but the previous owner disconnected the air pump. I was under the impression air inected motors only came in the commercial vehicles as they were imported from Japan where the emission laws were more stringent.

A 3k with all that crap. I was rather taken back when i found my 5k had it. I was thinking that the "K" motors never had the air injection crap. Whats happen with the two speed ?

The two speed is going to be removed, and then I'll attempt to sell it. I can't see a lot of demand for the old toyoglide. Shame really. They guy I bought it off claimed it had only done 76,000ks.

K motors could have air injection on them stock.

All flat top piston K heads if you run your finger along the top of the exhaust port they have a hole in them for it cast in. That is why there a crap port design and the first thing you do is port them.

BUt some one has taken your injection off and blanked it. No surprise.
