Rolln16 Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 :P Hey Guys,Gurls... I'd like some opinions... I have an ae92 and i want to save up and put new rims on it. Currently it has stock genuine toyota rims they are 14". I want to put something different on and was thinking of going white in colour and of course bigger in size... 16" maybe 17" cause i can get them legally... Bear in mind that my "baby" is storm grey in colour with an aqua green pinstripe. I want to get a kit sometime in the future not an ott one though, and possibly a neat little vinyl. I know most of you own earlier model cars... but all opinions are welcome!!! Quote

ancullen Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 I reckon some MiniLites (or more likely, minilite replicas) would look alright on an AE92 (but not on anything newer). But if you're going for a bodykit later, they'd probably look crap with the kit. Maybe something with heaps of dish, black centres, and silver/chrome rims? Eg: Quote
ROLLN'03 Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 Geez, how come he can get his pictures to view like that!!!! ARGH, i give up! * Throws hat on ground * Quote

Felix Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 I reckon some MiniLites (or more likely, minilite replicas) would look alright on an AE92 (but not on anything newer). minilites originally came out on classic 60's and 70's cars. they look wrong on anything later. i just can't get over how younger people mismatch styling from different eras these days. shit why not just get a set of 17" custom jelly beans or hotwires for your old skool '04 rolla (well it's not new, so it must be old skool). i was born in the early 70's so it just looks way wrong to me. don't be surprised if you get laughs from older people. funny styles these days. anything old is made new again. Rolln16 Posted September 20, 2005 Author Report Posted September 20, 2005  hmmm... thats definitly food for thought... still unsure though... Quote
Super Jamie Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 i beg to differ, i could appreciate a set of minilites on an ep82 starlet. they'd have to be like 15" with polished lip. dunno about a corolla tho, even ae82 would be pushing it in gt4, i have the shigeno ae86 watanabe wheels on a gunmetal grey e46 m3 csl, it looks PHAT  my best mate wants 17" jellybeans for his VU SS ute, dragway will do them out of billet for $990 a corner :P Quote
Felix Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 (edited) easy to tell who is barely out of their teens now. i won't go into japanese styling. front mount oil coolers, flower exhaust systems, stupidly big wings.....need i say more.... Rolln16 maybe play with the Bob Jane wheel selector Edited September 20, 2005 by Felix Quote
