VL_TURBO Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 Hey guys i was looking at turboing my 4k when i came accross a 3tc motor from a t18 i think it was would it be better to get one of these and turbo compared to a 4k? What do they go like in a corolla compared to a 4k? thanks Quote
MattyZ Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 3TC is a 1.8L 4K is a 1.3L so yes a 3TC is better in every aspect apart from a 4K wont need to get engineered unlike a 3TC Quote
VL_TURBO Posted January 20, 2011 Author Report Posted January 20, 2011 Is it worth the swap? i read they only have about 30hp more than a 4k.. Quote
19914afc Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 depends what spec engine, output ranges from 70-105 hp (52-78 kW) and 93-120 ft·lbf (126-162 N·m) between the California 3T-C and Japan-spec fuel injected 3T-EU. The one in my T18 goes alright, it has a 38/38 weber and exhaust. Quote
nme308 Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 Absolutely best choice of the 2 you have provided is the 3TC - I am however a tad biased... Turbo 3TC is a totally tried and tested deal and 800rwhp is achievable with them in extreme builds. I have a blow through holley turbo setup on my 3TC and LOVE it! Cheers, Jason Quote
19914afc Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 I pulled away from a 130RWKW R31 with just a 3t with extractors and a weber and with cut springs and no rear sway bar :) Quote
jimmy-d Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 was the R31 going in reverse? don't be so silly! It turned of at the lights.. Quote
19914afc Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 no, it was on a mountain run up hill, NA rb30 skyline with 130 RWKW Quote
