  1. Good stuff mate! I'm very happy to see your manifold and turbo all fit - that must be a feeling of relief!! :D And as if you are doing anything other than the turbo... Cheers, Jason
  2. Ok - Now I'm mildly confused... You must be flat out busy up to some kind of mischief eh slo??? :hmm: I have NEVER been to this forum and had to look further than the first page of the rides thread to find your car(s)! :laff: I can't yet hear supercharger whine - what the hell else could be taking your time? :P Cheers, Jason
  3. Hmmm... So if ya don't mind me asking... What the hell could be more important than boosting the 5K??? :D Cheers, Jason
  4. Immmmmmpressive!!! I just read the last three pages and found nothing but cool upgrades and cruising - no breakages!!!! Looking good mate. Cheers, Jason
  5. Good stuff. Sounds like its drunk idiot score 0 and rolla score 1 for some more win! Cheers, Jason
  6. Shakes head... I don't remember to drop in for a few weeks and you've been at it again... Chalk that one up to the memory bank and put another cd in the player which has a more mellow tune! Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying you were doing anything wrong - just get the general impression you enjoy driving spiritedly. :) People like to see these old girls being driven and particularly nice examples like yours. Take a slightly more relaxed approach in your classic and let people enjoy the view of your rolla crusing gently past and get a good earful of the cammy exhaust note, you will also have an extra split second to react when some dumbass is standing where they shouldn't be! Good luck with it, sounds like it should be better than ever! Cheers, Jason
  7. I wasn't game to go with a puck clutch in front of my T50 as I believe they are made of similar glass to the K50... I went with a nicks custom clutch consisting of an organic plate with 1000kg pressure plate. Couldn't be happier with its performance for daily driving duties. :) Cheers, Jason P.S. Good luck with the drive line - you sure need it!
  8. Hi there, If you want to buy off the shelf stuff then the likes of BRD Racing or Paradise Racing in the states will supply the goods in exchange for the right dollars. You will I think need an adapter plate to make the intake fit as these guys build stuff for the pushrod 3TC/2TC motors - the intake has different bolt holes on the 2TG but its no biggie. 2TG will take a 'bit' of boost. I'm guessing a stock engine is what you are asking about and they had 9+:1 compression depending on the model so you would need to limit the boost somewhat. If the engine is fresh I'd personally stick in 10psi or so with a decent intercooler in the equation and good engine management/tune. Cheers, Jason
  9. Absolutely best choice of the 2 you have provided is the 3TC - I am however a tad biased... Turbo 3TC is a totally tried and tested deal and 800rwhp is achievable with them in extreme builds. I have a blow through holley turbo setup on my 3TC and LOVE it! Cheers, Jason
  10. Front uni failure eh? If you don't already have one then I sure hope you build/install a tailshaft loop asap! No mention of major karnage so I assume it didn't dig into the road? ...possibly just a low speed high rpm failure?... I am not game to ask what is the next weakest link - although its a sure thing you will enlighten us!!! Cheers, Jason
  11. Mmmmmmmmmmm... Kinda lost me on the importance of lengthening the rocker arms in conjuction with regrinding the camshaft... I've had em reground and needed nothing more than the usual lash adjustment. Is it an outright monster? Mate if you havn't already got the information you seek then this link should help! Toymods T series tech Cheers, Jason
  12. Hi there mate, Just about everything that bolts on to a 2t will bolt up in exactly the same way to the 3tc! I've swapped out a 3tc into my TA23 celica in place of the 2t and they are almost identical motors so absolutely no hastles at all. Cheers, Jason
  13. The skyline borgy was 104mm wider than the T series. I think using the two short axels approach should get you within cooey... I was too lazy to shorten it and just jammed the whole thing under my TA23. With the standard rims onboard it actually made the car look heaps better - just gave me hastles chasing down two pairs of totally different offset rims when I went to get mags. :laff: Cheers, Jason
  14. I've been without interweb access for the last couple of weeks and I see you STILL arn't finished... :glare: Sif these things ever are! :lolcry: Whatcha decided to sling in for a diff? Got something for the right price??? Cheers, Jason
  15. FOR SALE: One only 5 speed gearbox suit 4K toyota motor. Complete box awaiting re-assembly. No broken selector forks and input shaft not twisted on this one! Grab a bargain $450.00 OBO Hard to find in this condition!!! :lolcry: Cheers, Jason
  16. So does this 'temporary' gearbox come with a can of MECHANICAL SYMPATHY??? :P  :P Cheers, Jason
  17. You clown! Seems this man knows how to have fun :P Get a diff as your next major purchase eh? Cheers, Jason
  18. Hi there Bamboo, For your own sakes its a damn good thing you are not starting a war! I advise you not to give advise on carburettors. For anyone else wondering if either of us knows anything at all then I suggest you get your hands on (pay for or borrow from the library)one of the many great holley carb books available. I strongly suggest staying clear of free 'facts' off the internet as everyone has bucketloads of them as you can see here! Cheers, Jason
  19. So how much 'suck' does any carb have once the throttle blade/s is/are open? Did Wikipedea tell you that one? :bash: For the rest - Once a throttle blade is opened there is no vacuum rather 14.7 pounds per square inch atmospheric pressure pushing air into the vacant space created when the piston is drawn down the bore in the intake stroke. A booster is NOT a fuel injector and no fuel comes out unless there is airspeed past it. That is why a holley carb has an idle and an intermediate circuit to fuel the engine at idle and small throttle openings. A 650DP holley has 2 primary barrels which are smaller than the classic 350 holley's 2 barrels and so will be just fine on the primary's. Now if the carb is oversized for the application at what then it will run lean on standard jetting due to lack of airspeed. The cure is of course to up the jet sizes till proper AFR's are achieved. The converse of an undersized carb is of course bulk airspeed causing the engine to run rich with stock jetting and needs to be jetted down till proper AFR's are achieved. You have to go absolutely stupidly off one end of the scale or the other size wise to make a carb unworkable. Its amazing what a little tuning smarts can achieve! Cheers, Jason
  20. And I guess you'd also say a 650 double pumper 4 barrel holley on a very mild 3tc was overcarbed too? :hmm: Cheers, Jason
  21. Stayed carb - 650 double pumper holley 4 barrel carb. SR20 exhaust manifold has the same port spacing and the front and rear bolts fit perfectly. The only difference is the SR manifold has 2 bolts per port and the T series shares one between 2 ports for the middle runners if that makes sense. An aftermarket top mount SR manifold would need bugger all filing/drilling to make the holes work. The standard SR manifold in factory bottom mount config fouls the T series engine mount and starter motor so I made an adapter out of 12mm steel to top mount it - about a 3 hr job with drill and die grinder plus thread tap. Cheers, Jason
  22. Hi there, The turbo thing can be done WAY cheaper than most people imagine. My daily drive has been done on a shoestring budget and shed floor scrapings. I wont post any more pics and details as I've already wasted enough bandwidth in the 'backyard turbo' thread! Burning honda's isn't an issue either! :lolcry: Cheers, Jason
  23. Hi there, A 2tb twin carb manifold would be what you need here - read that as damn rare here is Australia though! This manifold mounted 2 of the standard 2barrel carbs I believe so with adapters should be suitable for dual downdraft webers. Please forgive the extremely crappy pic as it was the only one I could dig up quickly... Of course it will bolt directly up to a 3t engine as only the twincams had different manifold bolt spacing. Cheers, Jason
  24. Power difference is cheese'n'chalk! I've got a daily driver which has so far gone 14.1 down the quarter on 5 year old 175/75R13 tires. Getting yourself into trouble is far too simple! I recon my 76 Celica is around 2500lbs which means the engine hasn't got to put out too hard to make it a barrel of laughs. 205 Moroso HP is all it takes to run 102mph - and that unfortunatly had over extended the fuel supply, so If I can make it to 250 Moroso HP it'll be good for mid 12's on paper. Now the good thing is that even though that power isn't out of a naturally aspirated 3TC's league the turbo lets me do it with a kitten smooth cam with power right off idle! Cheers, Jason
  25. Hey Slo, when you joining us on the T-series dark side??? :) :P Cheers, Jason
