Trev Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 In before someone says the rotors are backwards. Let me know how the yellows go when cold, I had EBC green stuff in the daily but they weren't good until they heated up. Quote
Rob 5000 Posted March 19, 2011 Author Report Posted March 19, 2011 Bought some new advan's for it. Anyone know whats a good starting temp for these? Then just a few bits and pieces getting both the cars ready for Winton next weekend Quote
Rob 5000 Posted March 26, 2011 Author Report Posted March 26, 2011 Today we did a few final touches to the 92. All trailered up and ready to head down and open up a can of whoop ass :) Little bro 82 is coming too Quote
Rob 5000 Posted April 10, 2011 Author Report Posted April 10, 2011 The Yellows stopped fine when cold but they are now worn down to almost the backing plates. They did 4 runs of 15mins each and not every lap was flat out as I backed off at times to get into some space. So stopping power good, wear rate crap! Quote

Sounds like they are softer and are a better street pad then the greens. Edited April 10, 2011 by Trev Quote
Rob 5000 Posted April 10, 2011 Author Report Posted April 10, 2011 those advan tyres were a bolt on 6secs a lap quicker. Quote
Rob 5000 Posted May 15, 2011 Author Report Posted May 15, 2011 To overcome the problem of the car tearing thru brakes today we added some brake ducts to get more air to the rotors to aid in cooling it down. Our new race logo turned up as well. Quote
Onikage Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 Nice SX, looks like its a real quick car. Let us know if the ducting to the brakes helps with cooling. Quote
Rob 5000 Posted May 22, 2011 Author Report Posted May 22, 2011 (edited) Have finished fitting the ducting for the brakes and have started putting in the lap timer onto the dash. Edited May 22, 2011 by Rob 5000 Quote
Mitch-12 Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 hey rob you will have to have a look at our supercar brake ducts one day ill show you some secrets Quote
Ella Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 i too am interested in finding out how well the pads hold up with the brake cooling ducts installed. Considering this mod for the red car to help consumables like pads and rotors. Quote
Rob 5000 Posted May 22, 2011 Author Report Posted May 22, 2011 Will do mitch. We also pulled out the inner gaurds and cut off the tin shield around the inside of the rotors as heat build up is killing the pads.Got a set of Project MU pads coming. Quote
Mitch-12 Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 one day come around and ill show you how to keep them cool we did the z06 corvette like the supercar for the 12 hour and had no brake issues Quote
