coln72 Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 (edited) never used the choke with my 5k fitted with 3k-b carbies so I guess twin webbers would be similar Edited February 2, 2011 by coln72 Quote
KENut Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Pump the throttle a couple times, then hold it down a little bit when you hit the key Quote
wanzl Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Pump the throttle a couple times, then hold it down a little bit when you hit the key mine had troubles ideling, conecting my choke and giving it a tune was what got mine running  Quote
Sloth Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 I occasionally need the choke for the twin SUs on my 7k (usually just if it hasn't been started in a couple of days/weeks). Quote
philbey Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 I'm running twin dellortos on my 5K without a choke. When it's warm it ususally fires first hit. In cold weather it takes a couple more seconds to crank with a quick pump or two of the throttle while cranking. Apart from that, it's never really given any trouble. It will run a little shit for a minute or two on cold days, occasionally stalling, but all in all it's easy to start. BUT - mine has been properly tuned, on the dyno. If you're just slapping them on without a pro tune, then be prepared for all sort of shitty times. Quote
altezzaclub Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 The choke setup will make it easier, but Webers will shoot twin jets of fuel right across the garage when you pump them. A couple of pumps then hit the starter, and you'll have to use your right foot to make it idle until it warms up. Its not that hard to do the conversion properly and fit a choke cable. Philbey is right, you will need to sort out exactly which jets and emulsion tubes suit the motor best. Lots on the web about solving misfires and poor performance with jets. Quote
snot35 Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 All the Webered cars that I've driven haven't needed a choke. Same again, a couple of pumps and then start. Quote
