mungi mods Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 geometry is different left toright and the lca stamping is different to help with geometry Quote
19914afc Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 I got told that corona ones are the same as I was sent 2 Left corona lcas from AJPS and they said that there the same. Quote
towe001 Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 I thought it was the steering arms that are different left to right. On the ke30/55 the lca's the only difference between them is where the stops for the steering is welded to the lca's, apart from that their both stamped from the same press. Quote
SLW42 Posted February 25, 2011 Author Report Posted February 25, 2011 well e7's are different left to right, and ajps should probably know that if there is L and R for a reason too, considering they do deal with alot of steering parts Quote
19914afc Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 Apparently they have a very slight difference in angle for Castor so I'm just getting ke25 ones now apparently 10mm longer than corona ones :) so if anyone needs a left hand corona lca cause they have ran up a gutter or something I have 2 brand spanking new ones, haha! SLW42 Posted February 26, 2011 Author Report Posted February 26, 2011 price on a single one via pm please?? Quote
love ke70 Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 just don't trust advice from ajps, always do your own research :) glad you worked the problem out, its something i will ahve to remember :) Quote
19914afc Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 ye, he said they where ok to use but not recommend it because they have slightly different Castor angle, probably could use them but meh just do it right. Quote
Ella Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 lol 1 @ no axle stands and nearly losing your hand. very dodgy. Lol 2 @ fail fitment of control arms. mark things if you can't remember where they are from. Lol 3 @ AJPS sending two left hand LCAs and saying they are fine... the two are different. Quote
SLW42 Posted March 2, 2011 Author Report Posted March 2, 2011 Whats funny about making a mistake? Everyone does it, Axle stands were under another car so i couldn't exactly use them, so next best is a wheel under the car so if it does fall it stops before much goes wrong Quote
Evan G Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 +1 if i cbf with stands. just a couple stockies under the seals just incase Quote
love ke70 Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 maybe if you had of laid 2 wheels flat under the crossmember, rather than one standing up the safety attempt may have been more successful, and less humourous. if you had of been under the car it may well have qualified for a darwin award :P Quote
SLW42 Posted March 3, 2011 Author Report Posted March 3, 2011 it was laying flat, and i'm not that stupid to stand it up Quote
love ke70 Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 so why didnt you put 2 in? do you think 5 or 6 inches of steel under the crossmember would keep you from getting crushed by the car? this is how serious accidents happen... Quote
SLW42 Posted March 4, 2011 Author Report Posted March 4, 2011 seriously dude i did, cause i wasn't under the car, i was working next to it on the lca's Obviously i wont be just using 1 rim again unless it's a 10inch wide wheel hahahahaha, I have stands and usually always use stands, but sometimes the stands can't always be used(in my case they were under another car) i'm not trying to turn this into a shit fight, i've learnt from my mistake So lets leave it there shall we???
