Jono.C Posted July 14, 2011 Author Report Posted July 14, 2011 (edited) So i haven't been able to do anything due to the weather. At all. And i go back to Tafe next week. So unless i find i shed to get some stuff done then it might have to be put off until summer. But for now i can still build up the 5kc-t Just bought a FMIC for the '10 as i'm not planning on using the sidemount/ topmount cooler with the turbo setup i bought. 660 x 150 x 67mm. It's perfect size. Will be sprayed chassis black and hidden behind the beaver panel. Edited July 14, 2011 by Jono.C Quote
Jono.C Posted July 15, 2011 Author Report Posted July 15, 2011 Just got back from town with some mates and it's sunny as feck for once. So the door jams, inside doors and boot lid are all get a spray. Will upload photo's when i can  Quote
1970KE18 Posted July 15, 2011 Report Posted July 15, 2011 Now i've been thinking. There aren't too many ke10's out there different from the norm. So i was thinking, what could i do to make mine different. And i thought, What about a 60's hotrod/ Military theme. Flat green paint, Wide steelies, Whitewalls etc. Something different. Here's my inspiration: Just with Jdm fitment with wide steelies and whitewalls etc.. Any thoughts? -Jono That really looks cool, maybe an option to tidy up my Ke18. I had a Morris Minor once in flat olive drab.... Quote
Jono.C Posted July 15, 2011 Author Report Posted July 15, 2011 Yeah i quite like it. There's only that and mine that'll be like that and i hope it can stay like that  Quote
abbott Posted July 15, 2011 Report Posted July 15, 2011 Totally agree Jono hope no one steals your style would be really annoying. Keen as for pics man! Quote
Jono.C Posted July 24, 2011 Author Report Posted July 24, 2011 Had decent weather for once today. Got stuck into it. Got the drivers rear guard overrated and in primer, drivers guard 90% done, Drivers guard 85% there. Plus the jams were sprayed today Sprayed the bootlid in the green and it's not too far off what i wanted although it's not matte finish. So looks as though i'll be taking it back again to have some mattening agent added in. So, I'd estimate 3 solid 9 - 5 days and she'll be ready for paint. i'm guessing 1.5 days will be spent on just the passenger guard.. And then it's just getting the weather to spray it. I'll upload pics later if anyone wants to see Cheers Quote

Might be easier than having to go back a few times before you get it to where you want it. Just a thought would end up dearer as you'll have to buy the clear but it would also give the paint a bit more strength. Stu. Quote
Jono.C Posted July 24, 2011 Author Report Posted July 24, 2011 I've had issue's with clear not taking properly before whch reulted in me respraying the celica again a week later.. Thinking just getting it matte'd like it was supposed to be should bring an alright result. Also purchased a12 pushrods yesterday, Slowly knocking off parts for the 5k turbo. Pretty keen  Hoping to have it done and running by the start of the 2012 Tassie Drift Season. All depends on the weather :hmm: Quote
kickn5k Posted July 24, 2011 Report Posted July 24, 2011 Well I spose if it's not what your after or paid for then they should fix it then. Well I'm pretty sure dad(fj20et datto 1600)and myself are entering powercuise tassie next year. I'm going to have to track you down and check it out. It's been 6 years since my last tas trip I can't wait. Stu. Quote

kickn5k Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 Oh shutup josh haha. Get a thread up for the '55. I'll just leave this here... Dude it's upside-down lol. Hmm log mani will be your biggest draw back Roller bearing 28 series? Stu. Quote
Jono.C Posted July 30, 2011 Author Report Posted July 30, 2011 Yeah i know it's upside down lol. The mani's cheap so i reakon i'll get it, Gotta see if i can spin the outlet housing to point to the passenger guard. It was running that was on the original setup.. That's the setup i bought, minus a fuel system, oil/water lines etc Just looking to refine it with a fmic etc Quote

Be carefull not undo it too much as it will give it a chance to cock over a nick the wheel. Then just turn it all to suit. That works for both housings. Check for clearance issues as it looks like it's out of a ke3x-5x which have a wider bay than a ke-1x. But it can all be adjusted to suit when you have a base to work Fromm. Stu. Quote
