5k with 5 speed carbie extractors and exhaust be lucky to get 11L/100km

what kind of carbie?

I used to get about the same with a carb needing a rebuild.

Now with my 4k+ rebuilt 3k carb + extractors I usually get about 9L/100km

Look at the final drive. plus 185/60/14's

Sitting on avg. 100km/h.

Car loaded with clothes, beer and car parts. (more beer and car parts tho) 2 people.

660+km on about 75L

EDIT: Keep in mind, my old KE38 was bordering on about 990kg without anything in it...

Mine was a similar combination but with 3kb carbies and high compression. Used to get around 400km from a tank. So appox. 10l/100km driven sensibly. Open it up for some fun and it could chew through a quarter of a tank in no time

I use an app on my phone as my fuel gauge is crook

Cammed twin 40 dellortos. Average fuel consumption 9.61, best is 8.74 and worst is 14.18

The economy comes from a properly tuned set of carbs, and also very high comp/good volumetric efficiency. Also, the driving I do closely represents the standard for combined driving, some open road high speed, not many lights or congested traffic.

The way you have it written you travel 11.5kms for every 100 littres of fuel used, obviously a typo.

I was joking :P
