yeah just did mine cos it overheated, blew the gasket and warped the head :( then to top things off, the coolant went into the oil :(

1. remove inlet and exhaust manifolds, spark plugs, leads and dissy cap

2. remove two bolts and on the top of the rocker cover and remove rocker cover

3. remove rocker gear

4. in opposite, diagonal order, remove the cylinder head bolts

5. pull off cylinder head

6. remove and discard gasket and check block and cylinder head for warping

7. (optional) remove and regrind valves into seats

8. install cylinder head with bolts in opposite diagonal order to correct torque (if u can get the bolts in corrent order from a book then thats better

9. install rocker gear,

10. install rocker cover

11. install spark plugs, leads, dissy cap, and manifolds

12. run engine till operating temp and then adjust tappets

thats the very basic process that i did and it worked a charm :) good luck

best bet is to grab yourself a gregories manual mate.

all the torque settings will be in there.

actually if i recall correctly, last time i bought a headgasket for a 4k (ACL i think) it came with the torque sequence and settings in the packet.

i changed a 4k headgasket with a basic socket set, no weird sizes required.
