zacharyo Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 (edited) I recently bought a 82 ksev thats not running for a project! Hoping to one day soon take it to the track and drift professionally. I'm only young and have only a little bit of mechanic experience but i'm hoping to learn from experience. Theres not much i can say other than the car wasnt in great condition when i bought it but i'm not really fussed as i only payed $180 for the whole thing. It was full of old car shit for another car of his that he has to come pick up soon,so the passenger seat was taken out. When the guy owned the car it was originally a flat front, but he sold the flat front and the manual pedal box to a bloke who gave him a dark blue slanty front off an ae71, so my 1.3 e70 now says 1.6  The engine was pulled apart to replace a head gasket but the previous owner who did it never bothered to put it back together so i got a pile of parts to put back in, still not sure if it will even start so a new engine might be a better idea. I'm not working or at school so funds are low for the car, but for now I'll make do with what i can and one day soon have it running. The car has minor rust most of it mainly surface rust but yeah. Maybe one day I'll put a 4agte into it ! After reading other forums and looking at peoples cars it just makes me think of all the possibilities for my car, and helps me see the potential it has. The car has no springs in the left hand side but i do have them just need to put them in, apparently the front sway bar needs to be replaced and i was given another one from the owner. I am still waiting for the previous owner to bring me the passenger seat and gearbox. :bash: I'm not sure whats missing and i have a few parts lying around so il get photos of them asap. Bumper needs new bolts etc. looks good with the two 16inch rims given to me ! :laff: 1.6 woooo. how the interior looked when given too me except had the inside of doors etc off a holden piled up there. Spencer[RL] Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 Lots of potential , and a good place to start learning bodywork/engine work. If its rego'ed keep it rego'ed! Quote
altezzaclub Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 LoL !! Best story I've read for ages! Quote
SkidzMgee Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 Hope all your dreams become realities my friend. I'm in the same boat with my slanty front wagon. Gonna make it up as I go along :P Moreso read other people's thread for what to do and what NOT to do ;) Quote
zacharyo Posted July 11, 2011 Author Report Posted July 11, 2011 computers not working so haven't been able to update ! Haven't really done anything either than give the interior a good clean to remove the tinge of brown which covered everything. Received the gearbox and passeneger seat, the passenger seat had no bolts so ive found some lying around and so its semi bolted on haha. The gearbox is another story, came in peices ! Tried to put it back together but it has no bolts for the flywheel, previous owner completely screwed me around. He also took his chrome stockies back and gave me stockies off an ae82 which don't fit, so now i can't even move the car out of my garage so its sitting on car stands. I'm tempted to just sell the thing but i've grown attatched. Will try to keep this updated with pics etc ! Quote
ninja-philbo Posted July 11, 2011 Report Posted July 11, 2011 don't bail dude great base to start with. u must understand that it will never drift well if at all with the 4k and u will need to spend alot of money on it to get it upto drift spec but it can and if u keep at it will get done just understand unless u have ur own money tree it wont happen over night. but by all means don't take that as a reason to sell up. it means get cracking work out what motor u wanna run then start hunting down the bits a pieces u need to get her going and befor u know it ul be sliding with the best of them having a ball. zacharyo Posted July 11, 2011 Author Report Posted July 11, 2011 i really don't want to sell it and i probably wont, but so far since ive bought the car its just all gone in the wrong direction, really shifted my mindset. Right now I'm just focused on getting it running and rego'd, but in the future I'm really feeling a 4agte, even maybe an sr20. I've been looking for projects for a while and now that i've found one i don't want to let go, and i just can't wait to get really stuck into it. Also i don't know if anyone has any ideas on how to remove the rust without having to repaint. Quote
zacharyo Posted July 16, 2011 Author Report Posted July 16, 2011 Just thought I'd upload some more photos now that the cars in cleaner condition, Got some front wheels today that fit so i could finally move the car out of my parents garage and give it a wash, it was as if the car hasn't been washed in years. Received an auto gearbox today as i don't have a pedal box for my manual. so hopefully the auto will go in soon and i can try start her up :laff: Quote

zacharyo Posted July 17, 2011 Author Report Posted July 17, 2011 Got stuck into the car again today, just completely pulled apart the interior to respray most of the faded blue I'm thinking maybe il go with a blue black theme inside as some of the blue parts are still in good condition :hmm: Also cleaned out the engine bay to find so much dirt and other shit just fall out, and cleaned up the gearbox a bit. mhmills Posted July 17, 2011 Report Posted July 17, 2011 I think I know the bloke you bought this off, I bought some lowered superking springs off him. Last I heard he got it defected or something? *Shrugs* Not sure. Looks different to when I last seen it, nice work! Cheers, Jake. Quote
zacharyo Posted July 17, 2011 Author Report Posted July 17, 2011 yeah you'd be right, i posted his car on here when he first had it, i was selling it for him. But he sold alot of the things front end etc, so i figured it wouldnt sell and offered him a real low offer and he took it. Its in much better condition now than when he had it. Quote
mhmills Posted July 17, 2011 Report Posted July 17, 2011 Win on your behalf then, I like the rear rims. They look alright. Quote
zacharyo Posted July 24, 2011 Author Report Posted July 24, 2011 alright just an update, havent been able to work on the car really, especially with this shitty melbourne weather. Resprayed most of the interior looks pretty good :D i'l chuck some pics up when I'm on the computer also ive been sourcing out some corona LCA's pretty sure ive found a pair so you might be seeing them on my car soon also i might have found the parts i need for my manual box so the auto gearbox is no longer going on. Things i still need to do: - buy bog, sealant and paint. - remove rust, bog and paint it - put springs into the left side of my car - get side mirrors i know you guys want to see some interesting stuff like engine conversions and stuff but the funds are too low but it will happen eventually :) Quote
