silverra23 Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 Hi all Some details of TCCAV's first motorkhana event of the year: Motorkhana Practice Day - 29th January 2012 Co hosted by the Toyota Car Club of Australia (Vic) and the Ford Four Car Club The day is a very relaxed (and cheap) event for those who have a CAMS licence and want to give Motorkhana a try. It is also a great opportunity for anyone interested to come and have a look. There may be an opportunity to ride as passenger with one of the regular competitors, however closed shoes and a completed indemnity form will be required. Where - At Werribee TCCA Club Ground, 300 metres from the south end of McGrath Road ‐ enter McGrath Road from the south. Melway 205 B10 or Grid 37 54 32 S, 144 37 35 E For more information contact David Batcheler on 0418 568 213 or email to cotku‐[email protected] We could also do with some helpers from club members on the day, and its a bit of fun thrashing about in the dirt, so we would love to see a good turn out to this one. Redwarf Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 I did my first one of these exactly 20 years ago almost to the day of this event, driving the car of the guy that's running this day. I'll let Batch advise who won. :D Heaps of low cost fun, and I still love doing them to this day. Don't worry about not being good enough, man up and have a go. You won't regret it. Quote
mhmills Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 Seeing as this is in my backyard, I think I'm required to attend? Quote

Is Batch still going! Did one of these as my first event too, but not quite 20 years ago :P (close to 15 years ago though) Great day, friendly people, smooth surface and LOTSA FUN. Give it a go guys, I'm sure they can hook you up with a day license if you need one. I'll try to get down there if I can get a day pass from the missus. The boys, one in particular, love motorsport so they would love it. Edited January 5, 2012 by coln72 Quote
silverra23 Posted January 6, 2012 Author Report Posted January 6, 2012 batch is still going... and he is probably in the same car too - henry the ke16 wagon that has been rather modded to suit its task Quote
carbonboy Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 Batch was one of the first TCCAV members I got chatting to when I signed up, nearly had me doing khanacross in Blue Thing until he realised it was my daily driver! :D I have no CAMS licence (yet!) but would like to come down for a look/lend a hand/go for a ride. I'll sign indemnity forms, I won't sue, but please do try not to kill me! Quote
coln72 Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 Was taking rides in another event in Ballarat. Was told I really shouldn't be getting the rear wheels off the ground with passengers in the car...... So he has down graded to a KE16 :P When I was with TCCA, Batch was running a KE20 (I think) and later a KE25. The KE20 was much lightened from memory. I gave him a KE26 shell at one stage as pay back for basically giving me my old KE20. He had plans to fit a mid mounted V6 in it. Quote
Redwarf Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 Henry is a 26. :) You guys missed the original white KE20 with the Fiat rear end and the hydraulic handbrake with the VH44 power booster....... That was the car I did my first event in. :) Quote

Was at the end of its useful life by the time I got on the seen. Quote
silverra23 Posted January 16, 2012 Author Report Posted January 16, 2012 I should bump this one to the top since it's TCCAV's next event! Quote

silverra23 Posted January 23, 2012 Author Report Posted January 23, 2012 An excellent question that I am endeavouring to learn the answer to. I have heard on the grapevine that Werribee isn't good after the Christmas storm, being flood plain and all, so its being moved else where. Where else where is, I can't yet say. Keep you posted. jimi91 Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 yeah i heard it got cancelled or something :blinks: hmmm so when do we find out ?? See ya Jimi Quote
silverra23 Posted January 24, 2012 Author Report Posted January 24, 2012 Unfortunately TCCAV's motorkhana ground at Werribee has not recovered from the recent Christmas Day storm, and as a result the practice day will not be going ahead this Sunday 29th January Apologies to any one inconvenienced by this, we do hope to get the ground back up and running as soon as possible.
