Why hello there ROllaclub member I'm Kyle and ive just bought a Ke38 wagon last weekend from maryborough for $1000 i thinki got abit ripped of :/ but i guess you guys and girls could tell me different after pictures i have putting up, anyways i dotn care how much it cost I'm just stoked that i have a ke wagon that runs and still in stock condition that i know of.

I'm not a big fan of this paint job atm but i mean when shes on the road rollin ready to go know doubt the paint will grow on me like most of you guys would know with little things on your car when you first buy them haha.

Well from what i see it has a 4k-c ? or is it just a 4k ?? ( confused on what the difference is )

4speed manual gearbox

inside is very stock from what ive been looking at pictures at other ke38 rolla wagons ha,

stock rims ?

186176 kilometres on the speedo

temp and fuel gauge don't work... how to fix this problem ???? ( but there is a gauge * i have picture to show* that is actually the temp gauge but i want the original one to work instead and piss off the aftermarket one i guess it what you'd call it...

it has ONE crack in the dash atm so I'm wantin to buy something to cover it over...

as you will see after all this writing the interior has its problems just like most old cars do really...

and the outside of the wagon has got its dints here and there which is a shame cause i would not have a clue how to fix them,

anyways my plans are for this ol' girl is :

Engine : not sure ideas ?

transmission : whatever suits the motor

interior : beige or white

paint : gunmetal grey or baby blue

rims : i am really tryin to go for those " Watanabe rims in black " or some of those " gold Simmons "

audio : just 4speakers, 2 in the boot and 2 in the front door cards

exhaust : something thats sounds goood but not loud as f**K i dislike loud cars sometimes...

suspension : something nice a low but not extremly low, i'd like to sit it low like Oh-KE (member) ke38 wagon :):y:

also going to add some cosmetics to the car like a sunvisor, round mirrors and i would love some chrome roof racks !!!!

Oh-KE'S wagon is amazing !!exactly the style I'm looking for but I'm addin my touches to my own car haha

anyways Rollaclub i hope you like the very start of my project, enjoy !

She'll tidy up alright! Just fix the dents in the back and repair the bonnet to get it one colour and it'll look great.

With the gauges they could just be the wires off, look for a wire to a little sensor on the side of the thermostat housing (Where the top radiator hose goes to)

For the fuel one, lift up the boot carpet and look for a round lid (black or silver) held down with usually 3 screws, under there is the fuel sender, just make sure the wires/ plug is done onto it.

There's members wrecking ke30's etc on here if you need parts so check them out in the car parts wrecking section

You can also buy a lot of stuff new from ebay, such as carpet and trims, I'd stay away from buying brake or engine parts off there though :blinks:

ohkays yeah i was look at the carpets I'm acctually considering on buyin them or apprently theres this place called Knox Auto Carpets that do them and are really good ive been seeing...

and i might have a look at those 2things now and see if i can't fix them myself :)

oh and also since its an old car should i buy some new brake fluid and bleed the old shit out ? ( if so how do i do that or is there anyone around boronia heights way in brisbane ) hahah

I'd check your original lines while you're at it and replace them if they're worn or cracked. They can and will explode at some point.

Bleeding is relatively simple, I could explain it but there's video's on YouTube, I think even mighty car mods did one

That's a good source for you to check out if you want to do stuff and not sure where to start, they've done gauge installs and everything.

I used Knox for my carpet, cheap but you get what you pay for. It will come without all the holes for the seat bolts etc cut out.

Keep your old carpet, lay it on top and trace the holes onto the new carpet with chalk.

If you want a basic way to bleed your brakes if you don't have help you can gravity bleed them, takes longer but if its just sitting there undriven you have the time.

As for the gauges, I suggest (to everyone) BUY A MULTI / VOLT METER!

Best piece of kit you can own. I bought one from Bunnings for $10 and I use it constantly. Worth every cent.

oh right true thanks guys ! well for the temp gauge (original one) i disconnected the wire near the hose and cleaned it but still no reading...and the fuel sensor is behind the rear drivers side wheel..pulled it out an cleaned it but still no reading on the dash :/

and i know this might sound stupid and all but how do you use the multi/volt meter cause i will buy one next week :) :y:

i also found out why i wasnt getting my passengers side tail light too!! :glare:

they are the cable for the taillights...

but i cannot find the wires from the front of the car going towards the rear ? :/

how do you use the multi/volt meter

All you need is the DC volts set on 20V to read a 12V source anywhere, and the resistance to read ohms for checking for full circuits. All the other stuff doesn't matter on cars really.

So if you're wanting to see if a wire is live, put a probe on it somewhere where you can touch the wire itself, some juction say, and the other probe on a clean metal part of the body or motor for earth, and it will show you how many volts re in the wire.

If you want to know if one wire is joined to another, put it on ohms and put a probe on each part that you want to check between. A good conductor will have less than 10ohms, a broken circuit will have infinite ohms. (might show 'E')

Start by checking between the head and the battery negative, that will tell you how much resistance there is for the starter motor power getting back to earth.

If a bulb doesn't work check 12V between the wire bringing the power in and earth on the body.
