Jono.C
Hey guys. Going to respray my rims and want some recommendations on some chrome paints that you may have used.. Everyone i've used has just come out silver.. Either rattle can or to put through a compressor.. Either way! Cheers
clubby2084
I've tried a couple of chrome paints over the years. Honestly, not worth it. Like you said, they come out silver. I've always found chrome paints (some of them) look OK for a few weeks then go to S**T. Then if you touch the paint it will leave black marks. Don't bother. If it's for wheels. Use silver wheels with a clear lacquer over the top.

SLW42
If you want chrome.... Polish them.... If your lazy get trim rings!!
Jono.C
Polishing steel won't bring a decent result and trim rings won't do what I want
orangeLJ
you CAN polish normal steel to a high shine finish, but steel rusts, regardless of what you do (clear coat will still allow the oxidised sections to develop under it and you can guess the rest. (I polished a set of calipers once.... I learnt by my error) anyway... Try some of the HOK effekts paints They have a couple really good "chrome" type paints that will last. Not cheap, but the best available.
iwontarolla
Couldn't you polish it then use lanoline to seal it?
