ok,

got the extractors and 2" all the way with 1 muffler put on yesty.

prob is, the car runs like crap, I'm pretty sure its the carby, the idle is rough and drops about 200-300 rpm, and then gains it back plus more, etc etc etc.

also there is a big flat spot on acceleration, so I'm guessing the carby is really munted.

mate has a weber that i will try when i get the adaptor plate.

also, got new rotors put on the front, and the pads are still brand new, was wondering does it take time for the brake pads to adjust to the new rotors?. cause my brakeing power is still really low,

thanks

Take them out and heat them up. Do about ten hard stops from the wrong side of 60. That should bed them in. Basically you want to be able to smell em.

The Lucas pads that I'm running need to be taken to fade before they start working properly.

sounds like vacumn leak at the manifold.

did it run like that before you put the extracters on?

if not i'd say the manifold gasket is f@$ked.

try spraying a little water or WD40 over the manifold where it mates to the head and see if the rpm picks up, if it does you've got a leak.

Your not *supposed* to bed in rotors at pads at the same time. Put your new rotors on with your old pads and bed in the rotors, then you can put your new pads in and bed in the pads.

You can bed in pads and rotors together but your supposed to take it easy for something like 300km.

This all came from an ex-DBA tech.

the pads aint brand new, they just have alot of beef left, the previous owner much have put em on about 1-2months before i got it, but they didnt beed into the rotors cause they where stuffed,

so, will drive it heaps and see if it gets better, if not, its the master cylinder!!!

oh yeah, the choke was rooted ont he carby, and the accelerator pump don't seem to move, i dunno.. car don't like run well below 2000RPM, but seems to like 5000rpm..

yeah mine's like that with the weber... gotta rejet it. it still has jets suited for the 2L escort its off! make sure you get smaller jets for the weber when you get it, somethin like .135 and .125s ... I'm gettin mine in a couple of days, i'll let ya know how it goes. At the mo' mine is luggy as down low then just picks up after 2 grand ... then WHOOSHKA (or whatever it is a 4k will do when you boot it ... hehe)
