  1. wasnt love_ke70 doing this conversion??? has been a while since i have seen him on here
  2. oh ok, i had a 3k bigport head on my 4k dished pistons, and i think it may have brought it down to far, as it was doughy to drive, would be good for a turbo setup though, which i may still do.
  3. what head are you mid porting, a 4ku head or 3kc head. Not sure if it is the same for both heads. my 4k dished head is much much shallower than a standard 4k head. id measure the difference but the dished head is at my parents house lol.
  4. looks like the air con piping with foam wrap around it, only saying that cause it looks like a gas fill pipe on the strut tower. maybe a closer pic may help
  5. by pig on the street, he means you don't have any power until the cam kicks in. I can't find the cam card, but i have a massive cam in my ke70, and it doesnt kick into about 3300rpm, so you got to rev the f**k out of it to make decent power, but then it revs to 8500 all day. i think my cam is either that regrind or the next one up from memory.
  6. it states in that info that it is the only horizontally opposed engine with rear wheel drive in the world,................. they must not recognise porsche as a car...
  7. hey there, I'm pretty sure this has been done before to a ke26 or ke38 wagon. It is in one of my 1300 car magazines, pretty sure it was a fast fours or zoom magazine. The car in question was bright yellow, and the rear end was IRS out of the very first supra's i believe, which were only a celica with a wide bodykit and 5m engine i think. From what i can remember was that the car was from NZ and that he had it working quite well and was used for track work. Does anybody else know of this car??? Hope it helps anyway cheers dylan
  8. hi there, if you are serious about putting a sr20 into it in a few years, ive heard that silvia s13 front suspension will bolt straight in, if this is correct, you can use the silvia brakes, which should pass engineers when you have the sr20, as the sr20 came in the s13. do sum more research, cause i know there are heaps of upgrades for s13's, which will fit onto the s13 frontend. :)
  9. I'm guessing you would probably need different fuel pump and regulator :), and also will have to change all the rubber fuel lines to higher pressure efi friendly stuff:)
  10. firstly, sorry terry for hacking your topic, just didnt want to start another one when mine related to yours and secondly thnakyou ryan for explaining that simply, makes soo much sense now. :)
  11. I'm interested in this as well for my track ke70, but, it might be a dumb question, would luv if someone can explain it too me, how does modifying the tie rod ends reduce the lock to lock turns of the steering wheel??? isnt the only way to reduce that to increase the ratio inside the steering rack/box, as the lock to lock stops are in the steering rack/box?? if someone can explain it would be helpful, thanks heaps
  12. fuel pump maybe on the way out, ive had a few start to leak before....
  13. yeah I'm down newcastle but any locksmith will, i mean should be able to do it :)
  14. this happened to me a few years ago, if you can get into your car, i took a barrel to a locksmith to cut a new one, cost 15 bucks. hope this helps
