  1. wasnt love_ke70 doing this conversion??? has been a while since i have seen him on here
  2. oh ok, i had a 3k bigport head on my 4k dished pistons, and i think it may have brought it down to far, as it was doughy to drive, would be good for a turbo setup though, which i may still do.
  3. what head are you mid porting, a 4ku head or 3kc head. Not sure if it is the same for both heads. my 4k dished head is much much shallower than a standard 4k head. id measure the difference but the dished head is at my parents house lol.
  4. looks like the air con piping with foam wrap around it, only saying that cause it looks like a gas fill pipe on the strut tower. maybe a closer pic may help
  5. by pig on the street, he means you don't have any power until the cam kicks in. I can't find the cam card, but i have a massive cam in my ke70, and it doesnt kick into about 3300rpm, so you got to rev the f**k out of it to make decent power, but then it revs to 8500 all day. i think my cam is either that regrind or the next one up from memory.
  6. it states in that info that it is the only horizontally opposed engine with rear wheel drive in the world,................. they must not recognise porsche as a car...
  7. hey there, I'm pretty sure this has been done before to a ke26 or ke38 wagon. It is in one of my 1300 car magazines, pretty sure it was a fast fours or zoom magazine. The car in question was bright yellow, and the rear end was IRS out of the very first supra's i believe, which were only a celica with a wide bodykit and 5m engine i think. From what i can remember was that the car was from NZ and that he had it working quite well and was used for track work. Does anybody else know of this car??? Hope it helps anyway cheers dylan
  8. hi there, if you are serious about putting a sr20 into it in a few years, ive heard that silvia s13 front suspension will bolt straight in, if this is correct, you can use the silvia brakes, which should pass engineers when you have the sr20, as the sr20 came in the s13. do sum more research, cause i know there are heaps of upgrades for s13's, which will fit onto the s13 frontend. :)
  9. I'm guessing you would probably need different fuel pump and regulator :), and also will have to change all the rubber fuel lines to higher pressure efi friendly stuff:)
  10. firstly, sorry terry for hacking your topic, just didnt want to start another one when mine related to yours and secondly thnakyou ryan for explaining that simply, makes soo much sense now. :)
  11. I'm interested in this as well for my track ke70, but, it might be a dumb question, would luv if someone can explain it too me, how does modifying the tie rod ends reduce the lock to lock turns of the steering wheel??? isnt the only way to reduce that to increase the ratio inside the steering rack/box, as the lock to lock stops are in the steering rack/box?? if someone can explain it would be helpful, thanks heaps
  12. fuel pump maybe on the way out, ive had a few start to leak before....
  13. yeah I'm down newcastle but any locksmith will, i mean should be able to do it :)
  14. this happened to me a few years ago, if you can get into your car, i took a barrel to a locksmith to cut a new one, cost 15 bucks. hope this helps
  15. Wheel Base (mm): 2370mm Front Track (mm): 1295mm Rear Track (mm): 1285mm Front Brakes: DISC Rear Brakes: DRUM thats according to car buddy, so should be right. :)
  16. that sux dude, but nearly the same thing happened to me, my first car was a ke70 with SLO14U number plates, spent about 5grand doing her up, and in the stupid quest for a faster car, sold it for a n15 pulsar, and 2 weeks later seen it parked in the front of the loacl wreckers at kurri kurri, went in and asked the guy about it, the young girl who bought it smashed it into a parked truck. Its sad to see our hard work ruined at the hands of someone else.
  17. looks ok man, but why are you bothering with that rusted out shell, shorely you could find a better one to start with, but i see your in norway so maybe not :P
  18. just look an ebay mate, so many cheap globes on there, i just got some for my evo, but remember if you put led globes in your blinkers, your flasher wont recognise them and they will flash really quick, like when you have a blown globe, because the electrical load is so small. hope this helps :)
  19. the shortest fileters you can get from k&n are 1 3/4 inch high. heres the catalogue, it may help http://www.knfilters.com/Racing/customcarb.htm
  20. yeah gun metal grey looks awesome up against the chrome bumpers IMO. N15 pulsars come out in a nice gun metal grey as did early 90's mazda astinas. i am also looking at 70's and 80's jap stuff, a nice metalic chocolate brown or copper brown would look awesome woth gold or chrome mags. What colour mags you running?
  21. i worked in a tool shop for many years as a tools salesman, its not just sidchrome that don't warrant wear and tear nowadays, the life time warranty now only covers manufacturers faults. wear and tear doesnt come under that, companies are losing too much money. And people, please don't get mad at the salesman at not replacing it, it is the representatives of the company who makes the tools that have the say on whether it is replaceable. now for quality wise, just about all said brands are good quality until we start hitting them with a bigger hammer, or put a piece of pipe on the end of the ratchet handle for more leverage. TTI is my fav, as it is made in the same district as sidchrome and repco in china, and its cheap. (i used to work for TTI, so i may be biased). hope this helps any way, stay clear of fragram, ETC, and supatool.
  22. yeah this is correct, there is a stepper bracket i suppose you call it, i think i tried drilling holes to do this conversion before, but a slant front radiator support panel sits too far back, so you need to space the head lights out from memory. there fore you need to make bracket. just chop it out and weld a new one in.
  23. hi there, your not giving us much info, but a tighe cam regrind can go for about $180, to a full designed to your specs about $1000. double valve springs (y bother) heavy duty about $140 a set for my 4k get your original fly wheel machined down about $120 carby depending if you want a rejetted end rebuilt 3k carby about $300, or a downdraft webber, $200 2nd hand - $550 new, or twin sidedrafts %500 2nd hand - $1800 new my last dyno for twin webbers on the dyno cost $350. Hope this helps, dylan
  24. hey, what lights are you talking about? the head lights? cause they wont fit straight in unless you change over the whole radiator support panel, plus the fender gaurds are different too on the flat fronts compared to the slantys. and those gaurds on the blue dx corolla are also the same as ke70 panel van gaurds in australia, as they were fully imported. hope this helps
