glenpos Posted January 9, 2013 Author Report Posted January 9, 2013 hey, sorry no reply for a while haha, not much has happened, 1st place trophy and 2nd place series trophy turned up yesterday, very happy :P i also got a window net and spoiler brake light, but apart from that not much done. just need some cash haha. doing up a hj as a gts at the moment with dad, so will get a bit of cash off that, and a express ute for my step dad, so when i finish them a bit more will get done lol :y: Quote
glenpos Posted January 30, 2013 Author Report Posted January 30, 2013 hello, ordered the computer today, its $1100, the saloon car ones are a different colour and are built to suit the vt's or au's etc, comes with a few things, mini logger and just lots of software etc, hopefully it will show up in a week, then will wire it all up, they come with a base tune so the car runs, can tune a fair bit of stuff, just the rev limiter is set at 6250rpm, next race is 17th feb, gonna try to put some camber on the front, maybe get the brakes i need if i have the cash fun day was fun, chucked some stockies on it, took a few people out, scared my cousins other half, he was yelling at me and hitting me haha Quote
glenpos Posted January 30, 2013 Author Report Posted January 30, 2013 oh and i also removed all the heater crap, looks much nicer now :y: Quote
INVSBL Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 are you allowed to run adjustable hieght coilovers and adjustable suspention arms? looks like a tonne of fun! Quote
glenpos Posted February 1, 2013 Author Report Posted February 1, 2013 are you allowed to run adjustable hieght coilovers and adjustable suspention arms? looks like a tonne of fun! hey mate, nah they have a control tascco (the australian saloon car company) suspension package by pedders, and a control rear king spring, all up it cost $1300, sucks but i have to have it, same for computer, its a stinger 4424 ecu, but not the same as all the other ones, its specially made and diff colour etc, you can run adjustable front suspension tension rods, supplied by Croft Engineering, and relocate the holes in the k frame a certain amount to get the camber you want, its all expensive sh@t but have to have it all..... lots of fun though Quote
glenpos Posted February 5, 2013 Author Report Posted February 5, 2013 ECU turned up today, looks awesome now just have to wire it in and have it going good by the 17 :D all the goodies normal ones are blue sealed so you can't pull it apart loom more stickers.... so exited, also getting dads ea ready, should be fun racing with him too :y: Quote
glenpos Posted February 7, 2013 Author Report Posted February 7, 2013 well i think all the wiring is done, just have to wait till dad gets home, bloody batteries... now i have to load all the programs on the laptop and figure out how to use them :y: Quote
glenpos Posted February 7, 2013 Author Report Posted February 7, 2013 yay it runs, sounds good, just have to tune it, running rich down low, so happy :D hahaha Quote
glenpos Posted February 12, 2013 Author Report Posted February 12, 2013 hey all, cars running pretty good now, getting the hang of the tuning program, just have to fine tune it a bit more, blocked off the idle up motor as its not connected now and they rattle open then idle up... still have to tidy the wiring up, cover the holes in the firewall from the heater, put switches in for the fuel pump and fans and maybe a few other bits, adjust the camber on the front if there's enough room, check brakes, and put higher spring spacers in the rear so it oversteers instead of understeer under acceleration, and maybe put a bigger muffler on it or make a new exhaust. i have till sunday, also getting dads ea ready, welded the diff, just have to change the fuel pump on it... Quote
glenpos Posted February 14, 2013 Author Report Posted February 14, 2013 well ecu is all done, fuel pump and fan switches done, made up a breather bottle, covered the holes in the firewall, new brake pads in the front that i didn't know i had sitting around.... and about 1 degree of camber adjusted would have liked more but that was it for the stock adjusters, just have to put the wheels on and wash it, bring on the first race of the year this sunday!!
