84Co-Rolla Posted August 19, 2012 Report Share Posted August 19, 2012 finally took my ae71 4ac for a drive, had to go and buy a new battery as the old one was screwed. put the new battery in fired straight up and let it warm up for 20mins, sounded fine as i got it tuned like a month ago but as i took it for a test drive it just started to run like shit, skipping beat and i just don't know whats wrong with it. would it be that it hasnt gone for a drive for like 3 months? any help is appreciated! cheers, aaron Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

84Co-Rolla Posted August 19, 2012 Author Report Share Posted August 19, 2012 (edited) almost 2 to 3 months since i filled it up last? edit: yeh it might be old fuel, ill go get some tommorow and do i need to add that lead additive to it? might even be a timing issue! ill freshen it all up with new leads and spark plugs. Check all the plugs and if one is wet then swap it with a good cyl and try it again. If the missfire stays at that cyl then swap the lead. if it is still on that cyl then do a compression test... maybe a valve has jammed open from corrosion..
