rke_011 Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 (edited) can anyone confirm if all ke series front brake hoses are the same? need some new hose for some ke20 brakes on my ke10, but wondering iff all KE's use the same or interchangeable parts. Cheers Edited August 20, 2012 by rke_011 Quote
ke70dave Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 if you are going to buy them new, you can get a hydraulics shop to make anything you want. just walk into the store with your old one and say "2 new ones of this please" Quote
rke_011 Posted August 20, 2012 Author Report Posted August 20, 2012 i could do that, but the standard has two hoses per side (off the shelf ke20 items) I'm wondering if anyone knows of any one piece from different model? Quote
Jono.C Posted August 21, 2012 Report Posted August 21, 2012 (edited) The ends are different, I know ke20 is different to ke55/ ke70 and t18 is different to ke70 Also ke20 is 2 piece from memory? Ke70 is not Edit, and obviously ke10 is different to everything because its metal and goes into the wheel cylinder. Edited August 21, 2012 by Jono.C Quote
rian Posted August 21, 2012 Report Posted August 21, 2012 (edited) Also ke20 is 2 piece from memory? Ke70 is not My brake lines on one of my KE70s are 2 piece, the ones on my other KE70 are 1 piece (but look to be incorrect because they have no centre clip thingy to secure them to the strut, they just flop around) and my braided lines are 1 piece (but these do have a clip that slides up and down the line so you can secure them to the strut). I did a little bit of research into brake lines recently (this was for KE70/AE86, not sure if it's the same for other Corollas) but braided stainless steel lines from HEL Performance were around the same price as crappy rubber ones from Repco or Supercheap, and HEL lines are all ADR approved and they can make them to any size with any fitting. I'll never buy another set of rubber brake lines again. Edited August 21, 2012 by rian Quote
Jono.C Posted August 21, 2012 Report Posted August 21, 2012 My old man blew a hose in his ke70 and when we pulled them out they were both one piece? So maybe one of the cars has had new ones made at some point Quote
