Ke70 Tyre Hits Caster-Rod At Full Lock, Help!!!!!

Adrogen

Recommended Posts

Need help with my ke70. The front tyres hit the caster (tention) rods when ever you try to turn all the way left or right :(

I can't believe how little info there is on this problem seeing as though it is a common setup

ke70

ae86 PS knuckles

MA61 wheels with 195-45r14 tyres

AJPS lock spacer.

Note: the tyres have plenty of room between them and the body back and front it's just the caster rod that they hit.

Thank you for any help you can give, Adrian.

ma61 wheels are apparently 14x7 +8

sounds to me like the combination of the slightly positive wheels, lock spacer and ps arms creates too much lock and the tyre hits.

You could weld a lock stop onto the LCA to stop the steering arm going to far.

its quite possible that everyone with this setup rubs the crap out of their tyres on full lock.

We had something of the same problem, but ours rubbed on the chassis at the back.

Setup is Sigma LCA's, AE86 PWS arms, no lock spacer, and 13 x 6 rims with 195/70 rally tyres and a quaife quick rack..

Face it, you'll have to remove some lock out of the steering or change your rims.
