Where'd you end up getting the discs and carb kit? Haha

the carb kit was at repco in the bargain bin lol, and the disks are through spencer gulf bearings,

Good find! Let us know if it makes much of a difference :)

lol, 'damaged' packaging.

I'm sure it can't hurt my old carb leaks around the accelerator pump, and all of it looks stock. So ill have a mate look at it, (I'm not good with fiddley stuff) and hopefully it goes for another 30 something years

went at it again today, and like everything its 1 step foward 2 back lol

while tidying the brake lines i noticed the ball joint had a split in the back of the rubber boot

upon inspection the drums had been leaking and brake fluid has eaten the rubber away.

so now I have stripped the front struts and steering arms out to replace the ball joints.....

also had a crack at heat wrapping my extractors that turned out to be a pain ( I was on my own )

so that will be redone later....

silver lining is that ill have new ball joints... :D

also tryed to get the size of the pin for ya Reed, but with the front end in bits i couldnt get under there ( the spare carrier is on the ground lol )

I'v got 2 days back at work then its new ball joints new brakes fitted and bled and have another go at the heat wrap...

had a good day today, wraped the extractors, and got a few little things sorted out....

Anyway, everyone loves pictures

This was how the brakes were when I got them

And with the new disks

extractors ready for wrap

And after

post-15870-0-97192600-1353657977_thumb.jpg

ill hit the wrap with sealant tomorow.... if I can be bothered

then finally fit them and the rest of the inlet stuff, I'm kind of thinking about a bigger carb, due to mine being a 'k'

carb and running on a 4k its punching above its weight.

cheers

Its been a while so I thought an update was in order,

Its back on the ground now, so all the fronts finished.

started it up to move it and it started first shot with stale 12 month old fuel in the tank  .

had to rip the heater out, the core was FULL of dirt and shit so I'm not even going to

bother putting one back in. Mite make a console to go there instead I have an old one from a ke55

so ill see if I can shoehorn it in there :D

now its just trivial things like put the door and bonnet back on and sort out the brakes ,

probably needs a tune as well but it ran, so i'm not complaining.

I'm gunning to have it done and reliable for the AJD in adelaide.

Well got shed loads done today,

its running and driving under its own steam ( only just )

seems my asthmatic carby is no longer up to the task.

so the hunt is on for a bigger carb!

apart from that its just small leaks and things to sort out and adjust.
