Rhysw88 Posted April 13, 2013 Report Posted April 13, 2013 Hey guys i am currently looking at putting a 4age into a 70's model corolla could someone help me with the ins and outs and if its more trouble then its worth, and if those engines are suitable for a turbo without too much engine work Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted April 13, 2013 Report Posted April 13, 2013 What corolla is it? 70's model could mean KE10/20/30/55/70 depending on where your from. Quote
Rhysw88 Posted April 14, 2013 Author Report Posted April 14, 2013 I havent bought a car yet but i want a old shape from early to late 70's i know its abit hard to give help when i havent got a car yet but i love the old shape rollas, any help would be much appreciated, what would be the easiest to convert? B.L.Z.BUB Posted April 14, 2013 Report Posted April 14, 2013 (edited) Easiest to convert is an AE71. All the others require a fair amount of work. I suggest you google '4AGE into *insert corolla model*' and read all the information you can and decide from there. Edited April 14, 2013 by B.L.Z.BUB Quote
Rhysw88 Posted April 14, 2013 Author Report Posted April 14, 2013 Yea ive been reading up and the ae70's on seem to be the easiest, just not really what I'm lookin for would rather an earlier model Quote
mark1414 Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 Why don't you just buy the car first then work it out? They are all difficult but legal to convert to 4age. Your main concern should be focused on buying one in good condition because you wont have much choice to pick from, especially if your budget is tight. Quote
ke70dave Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 Just remember that the 4age NEVER came in anything other than an ae86 when it comes to RWD corollas (in australia at least) the 4ac came in the ae71, which is pretty simliar to a ke70 (you can put ae71 stuff into a ke70 to mount a 4ac/4age) So essentially a 4age in anything other than a ke70 or an ae71 is custom engine mounts, gbox mounts and tailshaft, wiring and fuel system. It's welding time. Quote
Jordanrolla Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 I sell conversion kits for ke20 through to ke70 to make the first step easier Quote
