Ae71 Engine Comversion?

Hey guys! First post on here

Just thought id ask, I want to put a v8 into an ae71, is this a stupid idea? I know a guy who put a 1uz into one but it cost him heaps,

Bad idea if your not knowledgeable to know how hard it is yourself here and now. If youve never done a conversion before start with something more achievable. If you have serious mechanical knowledge and fabrication skills then you can do almost anything.

 

1UZ fits in a croalla chassis. Its not an easy one though.

 

Read the threads on here about those who have done it and then you will know more.

Youll nevet legally register one for the road if thats what you were planning.

it is sweet idea but it will cost a lot - no way around it. Engine with such torque would require better brakes, enforcing the chassis, proper gearbox and rear axle and so on. There are so many more costs than just the engine and putting it under bonnet.

I would take a guess that the cost of the engine and getting it in the car running will be.......30% of the project cost.

Thanks guys, have a few aussie v8's laying around and thought about it, seems as though a 4age conversion would be much easier
