Hey guys. I just put in a new cam into 4k. Any advice how to set cam timing? There are no marks?

If its a stock or reground cam they use the standard cam dowels to line it up. There are marks on both the crank and cam that need to line up.

There definitely are marks. Here is a quick scan from the Toyota K Series Engine Repair Manual. Not real flash, but hope it assists.

Just discoveed there is a better diagram/picture in the Gregorys Corolla manual. I'll see if I can't get a better scan of that & post it for you.

If you want the cam to run right you will need to set it correctly.

Getting it right does make a difference.

I starting doing a thread on a speedway car build, I covered the cam timing in there.
