Jelterkun Posted June 9, 2014 Report Posted June 9, 2014 Hello there I'm the owner of a ke70 and i'm planning to do the 4age conversion alongside upgrades to the suspension (coilovers, ae86 suspension all round, ae86 brakes, etc) Now i need some advice on whether or not do the engine conversion first and then the suspension or vice versa? The suspension i can do no my own but the engine conversion i cannot. So what do you guys recommend doing first? Thanks in advance Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted June 9, 2014 Report Posted June 9, 2014 Do the suspension and brakes first. No point making it fast if you can't stop. Quote
ke70dave Posted June 9, 2014 Report Posted June 9, 2014 If you can do suspension and brakes you can do a 4age engine conversion! But yeah suspension and brakes first, while collecting parts for your 4age. Quote

B.L.Z.BUB Posted June 10, 2014 Report Posted June 10, 2014 I taught myself off the internet. Just googled heaps of shit. Read a bunch of diagrams. Quote
Jelterkun Posted June 13, 2014 Author Report Posted June 13, 2014 Ok, thanks for the advice. One more thing. I'm planning on buying a lot from technotoytuning in 1 buy. I'm going to write my list of things here, and i would appreciate it if somebody here could tell me if all these things will fit onto my KE70. AE86 big brake kit (t3 kit) AE86 OEM hubs AE86 4-links AE86 lower control arms AE86 outer tie rods and steering knuckles AE86 tension control rod AE86 lateral bar/panhard rod I already bought the AE86 BC racing coilovers. Will these parts all fit? Because i have doubt about the tension control rods. Remember that these are all from Technotoytuning. Thanks Quote
ke70dave Posted June 13, 2014 Report Posted June 13, 2014 That's going to cost you a fortune! Does the big brake it come with brake caliper brackets? Quote
It's_AUDM_Yo Posted June 13, 2014 Report Posted June 13, 2014 I have large doubts about the 4 link, the US have different diffs to us. What do you plan on using this car for? I would say half of that stuff is a waste of money. I'd just go 86 brakes and get new rotors and some good pads like project mu. If you just want a bit longer control arms I'd go KE30/55/XT130 or look up the other options. Only bother with the knuckles/tierods if your drifting. Tension Rods look fine to me and again if unless your planning on drifting or heavy track work I wouldn't bother. But by all means go for it if you want to spend the dosh Quote
Jelterkun Posted June 13, 2014 Author Report Posted June 13, 2014 Well, when i order the 4-links for a ke70 and ae86. In my shopping cart is says that i have 2 times the 4-links for AE86, same for lateral bar and tension control rods so i guess they are the same. I don't really believe that some stuff is waste of money because i don't like to do half work. I'm planning on building this car to my "show" car and not a drif missle or some kind of wrecked KE70 with the rust covered away by fibreglass... Thats why i want to order the best possible parts i can get for my car so it will last for a long time. That's going to cost you a fortune! Does the big brake it come with brake caliper brackets? No, thanks for the tip. Quote
