Tail Light Paint Ke20

Hi, I am painting the plastic around my tail light on my ke20 and some of the paint I am using don't seem the right colour does someone know what the right paint code. ( its a grey colour)

The paint code on the car would no longer match the actual paint on the car because it has faded (yes it can be the wrong white)

 

You will need to get the paint colour matched by a specialist for it to look uniform

He is talking about the grey plastic around the tail lights. Someone more informed that me might be able to give you a paint code. But you will have to do all the trims as

a: they will all be faded so the colour wont match anyway

b: there is a chance that they have been painted a different shade anyway in the history of the car.

 

My suggestion is to paint them a colour you like unless you are chasing a perfect restoration. Mine were painted body colour on the rear and white on the front (along with the grill).

Like Coln said - you could jazz up the trims with some silver or chrome spray and put a clear coat over it for longevity and gloss.

As I understand there were a couple of shades of grey across the model range, but you won't find an accurate, "Toyota used this colour code"

 

Basically there was a lighter and a darker gunmetal grey colour, so I would suggest you choose whichever you prefer.
