Bucket Seat Conversion Questions

G'day guys

I was looking at my ke30 buckets and thought that tombstones and lap seatbelts would make a cool old school interior style thats unique

Anybody done this before? Also were there ever bench seats for these cars? that would be my dream for ultimate classic styling

EDIT:

Found what i mean, like HK Monaro seats -- no headrests

You would probably be better off using a seat out of something a little smaller, you would struggle to fit large oldschool seats with the KE30 floorpan. An earlier Corolla seat and then using whatever rails would work. KE10 seats would work a treat.

There was never bench seats for the KE30s etc, at least that I know of. Any good auto reupholsterer could surely rig up a frame to join two KE10 or similar together around the tunnel though, that would cost you a pretty penny though. With enough time and money anything is possible.

Hey Guys,

Long time reader, first time poster. Thought I'd ask my question here. Would anyone know what seats would be an easy install on stock rails (ke30)? basically doing my blue slip and would like to get away with requiring a engineer cert. for it.

sorry if this has been answered a million times or if I'm asking in the wrong place! noobest of the noobs here.

Cheers

Ahhh in that case I'd certainly recommend putting a KE30 one back in there.

Put up a "wanted to buy" ad (in the wanted to buy section) with a photo of your current passenger seat for a chance at getting a matching one.

However this site is a bit slow these days since the flat-cap kids discovered Facebook.

For a more instantly gratifying response, add yourself to the KE55 KE30 owners, Rollaclub and E-chassis Sales Facebook pages and place a similar advertisement there. With some luck you'll have one lined up by the end of the day! Be sure to include your location (you'd be surprised how many people don't).
