Defender Jon
Hey gang! I'm new to this site (and new to the KE16). I'm looking into buying a KE38 parts car and I'm wondering if you'd know if I can swap KE38 brakes and/or hubs onto my wagon. I'm looking to upgrade braking performance and get the 4x100 bolt pattern also. I'd possibly use the rear axle (although a bit wider). Thanks for any input you may have. I've seen some great info on these pages!!
parrot
Welcome Jon Have a look here which is quite a good start https://www.rollaclub.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page#1x
Jono.C
The ke38 pattern is 4x114.3 not 4x100 No point changing the rear axle its too wide, would need custom mounts and also handbrake cables etc with no real gain If you actually just want 4x100 pattern you can buy adaptor spacers from 4x110 to 4x100 online Edited February 18, 2018 by Jono.C
Defender Jon
Thanks for the help. I believe I meant TE38 which is what my girlfriend owns (not KE38) oops. Nice link also!! Great info!! Edited February 19, 2018 by Defender Jon
Defender Jon
Also, my intent was a stronger rear axle. Can the stock axle handle 200 hp, or do I need to modify/swap it?
Jono.C
No it won’t, would need something else and everything would need shorting and modifications so not a cheap exercise
altezzaclub
Go lie under a few vans at the wreckers. They have leaf springd, 5-links, disc brakes.. all sorts. You can expect to modify mounts and brakes, but they will haul a load and aren't that much wider.
Defender Jon
I have no problem shortening the axle (costly though). I'm planning on flaring the body a bit also which means a slightly wider axle "may" be ok... Off to the wreckers
