Medicine_Man Posted April 26, 2004 Author Report Posted April 26, 2004 Got a sparky out to look at the car and he found the lobe on the points had broken off, so it prevented it from getting any spark. Swapped it with nicks old points and bang, she started running $45 later..  started to connect the lights back up and found the left hand indicator / park light wasn't right, got it all rewired and working, moments from being finished and in the attempt to solder the right hand indicator / park light back together properly resulted in 2 wires melting and fusing together, which traveled back up the harness towards the battery, blew 2 fuses and f@$ked the harness in a matter of seconds..  so it was time to swap the harness again, got it down pat now, any ke70 owners need a hand doing it give me a yell, i can do it blindfolded now..  just got it all going and took it for a spin (minus the electronic ignition, also added a new GT40R coil) lots more power down low, though stutters a bit up high, so i'll have to get a new set of points in and get the electronic ignition back on, at least she will get me to work tomorrow  never a dull moment with my car :) Quote
Teddy Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 Great to hear she is alive again ! Â They never truely die under the care of the bajics ! Â hehehehehehe Quote
Medicine_Man Posted April 26, 2004 Author Report Posted April 26, 2004 Hopefully that set of points I gave you will fit already thought about that, they are the wrong ones it turns out, got another set while i was out today and they were exactly the same.. take the set i bought back next weekend when i get a chance.. Super Jamie Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 last bosch dizzy i scored (still running from matt's ke70) was amusing. the points had actually welded together at some stage, and separated again under operation. i went to inspect the gap and just laughed at this uneven mass of crap causing spark to work. actually i still have them somewhere, i'll try get a photo :) Quote
