Fraggle
Just wanting some info and yes I have searched and searched but found nothing OK I might be able to get complete KE71 with 4A and 5 speed question is :P Will the 5 speed bolt up to a 4k in a KE71. Thanks in advance Stuart
lappy
The gearbok off a 4A motor most likely a T50 so it wont bolt up to a 4K you will need a K50 (5-speed) or K40 (4-speed)
KE354AGE
I think you mean AE71...and why on earth would you bolt a 4k into an AE71? it would have to be a really special 4k to be dropped in in favor of a 4ac... I'm not exactly sure what youre trying to do...use an AE71 gearbox in a KE70 with a 4k or put a 4k into an AE71...anyway, no, the 4k wont bolt up to an AE71 t50 gearbox, nor will it bolt to the AE71 crossmember, you will need to get a KE70 crossmember, and get a K50 or K40 gearbox from a KE70, youll also need to convert an AE71 to cable clutch using a KE70 pedal box...if thats what youre trying to do...alot of work, and why? jamesrolla
i think he means he has one of the ke70's with the slant fronts and he also has an ae71 and he wants to put a t50 on the back of his 4kc in the ke70.. it might fit but i don't know, you would probably need the t50 cross memeber and all the pedals and slave cylinder shit etc... you might have to redrill some stuff to make it bolt on the back but i can't tell you wether it will fit because i have never done it before, if it works i would like to know because i have a couple of t50's here and i might stick one on the back of my 4k cheers james
Medicine_Man
As posted previously, K50 gearboxes and T50 gearboxes are completely different. K50s use a cable clutch, T50s Use a hydraulic clutch (Cable clutch T50 bellhousings are rare). There is no way you will get a T50 behind a K motor without a K - T bellhousing. coln72
And it would be easier to find rocking horse shit than one of those bell housings.......

It would have to be a DAMN special 4AC to choose it over a standard mostly f@$ked 4K in my opinion!!! I agree with Nick, 4K all the way
