Has anyone done it?

What steering rack did you use, how did you counter bump steer if any etc etc.

Would love to do this mod sooner rather than later ;)

something i'm planning on doing but still need to investigate further for my ke25.. is converting a ke30 engine crossmember into the car which requires the two front bolt holes slotted 5mm or so. this then theoretically gives me some extra width to play with when finding a suitable rack. the pivot points for the lower arms are wider with the ke30 crossmember. am doing custom engine mounts so the position of the crossmember is not so important in my case. also i can then use ke30 lower arms for a wider track or ke70 for 20mm less track (in total) which is probably nearer ke25 track anyways.. but will have the larger ke30/ke70/ae86/ta63 size ball joints to fit ae86 p/s steering arms to keep the lock nice and tight.

feel free to investigate further on this anyone :D

my KE25 race car has an ae86 rack in it (i didnt buildit though)

it gets some bump steer, but only really noticable on huge ruts on the race track, so it would be good for the street i think. turning circle and directness is awesome!

it has:

modified KE25 crossmember

AE86 rack

ta22 struts and steering arms

ke 35 tie rod ends

ae 101 RH rack mount and bush

KE laser LH rack mount and bush

AE75? steering column and shafts

I'm guessing KE25 arms and has balljoint adaptors.

having said that it tram tracks REALLY bad at roughly 100kmh on a straight road, gotta be careful. hopefully a wheel alignment and some control arm/strut top adjustments will fix that
