from experience the original ke10 4 speed boxes are pretty strong you should have too much trouble from 1 or 2 races prop wouldnt last much longer than that tho

cool, i have a ke30 4 speed in it now but blew that to the shithouse i was slightly hard on it tho..

i have 2x ke10 4 speeds in the shed, and can get hold of a ke70 box, just wondering what would be best to do

I THINK ke70 5 speeds and earlier model ke with k50's have the shifter in differant positions and you need to hack up ya floor i think if you use a ke70 k50 in lets say a ke55 or something around those lines.

correct me if I'm wrong people.

i think a ke30 4 speed would be stronger, i blew the 4 speed in my ke10 with a dead stock 4k, they are pretty weak boxes, plus the gear shifter hole comes through the floor in a different spot so you will have to cut a hole in the floor for it, it might also have a bit extra load on it because of the sticky tyres and the welded diff,

hows the ke30 diff holding up in it??

yeah really i want an identical box for it i think nickz might have one for me... the diff is holding up fine so far, i think the gearbox will break again before the diff, the box is easily the weakest link, all the shit it has to withstand lol

Can I put without any mod k50 gearbox into place of k40 into a Corolla ke50, Allready i'vr got k50 at car without any mods, but noise is horrible. I cam only use "4" and "R".

just rebuild your old box like taz said, i did that with my 4 speed as it had noisey bearing and its like a new box now, didnt cost much either, about $30 if i remember right from a bearing shop, i just took my old ones in and they matched them up with new ones

I meant more along the lines of making 1 good box out of 2 fugged ones.

ie, some will wear out the shaft that the solid gear set is on, some will shear teeth etc, find a good 1 of every part and make them 1 box! :)

they're a bitch to try and work out to start with, with the sliding gears and all, but once you've done it once it easy. I can just show you how to do it if you want??
