So it's happened. I finally have a ke10.

It's rusty, spider infested and crap. but it's mine


After a once over i've discovered it has a 4k in it and ke20 front disks.

There's a fair bit of rust and dents and it looks like i'll need new front guards and bonnet and possibly some pateches to weld in.


I've got my plans and i'll start working as soon as this rain stops

Very nice. Looks reasonably straight in the pic... but there's a lot we can't see

Please add to the Corolla Database.

Interested to see if she is a 67 build or not. Everything I can see looks 67, would like to see what dash she has.

g'day, yeah it's reasonably straight, a lot of rust and dents, a lot of work, nothing lines up..

heres what the guards and doors are like:




You could be right, it may be '67, i'm going off what it had on the old rego sticker, it has the early dash in it,

number is: ke10 242 802

Not too bad, I think my guards were worse (front inch was bog).

According to the Toyota Model Identification sheet anything below KE10-260001 is 1967 built.
This contradicts what some people have written on the Corolla Database thread but I'm sure these people were just going off the registered date not the build date.

Welcome to the elite club! None of thatmodern tat here.

That looks like surface rust after someone has played with it. Hopefully the bottoms of the doors and the rear guard pockets look OK?

Bit of work, lick of paint and it'll be perfect!

Had a play with it today and got it running! (you'd be more suprised if you'd seen the engine when i started )

Chucked on a carb, leads, fixed the battery wires and the ground, adjusted points, did the timing and she started, not first go mind you.

Went to move it around the yard i forgot i hadnt put the throttle cable on, did that, went to take off and the throttle jammed on full throttle, with straight pipe this way annoying

Also discovered i had no brakes!!


Then got into a bit of bodywork, mostly cleaning up the bog the previous owner had put on.

long way to go.

She's not pretty but all the body lines look good. Nothing a bit of hard yakka wont fix!

No idea, i thought they where factory? they're pretty torn up

Those seats are out of a Ke20 corolla, they should have a lever on the sides to work the back part.

They have a push in lever to slide it back and forth and a wheel that you spin and it adjusts the backrest

Now i've been thinking. There aren't too many ke10's out there different from the norm.

So i was thinking, what could i do to make mine different.

And i thought, What about a 60's hotrod/ Military theme. Flat green paint, Wide steelies, Whitewalls etc.

Something different.

Any thoughts?
