  1. Thanks love_ke70! That 1ggte looks pretty sweet! Mine is just a light poo brown stocker at the moment, but am gonna do just the basic mods to it (ie exhaust, carb, cams, rims & suspension), so i'll wack up pics when they're all done. Didnt end up going out to the shop cause its 41c in adelaide today, but called the shop and the guy said a set of hurricane extractors would go for about $200ish, plus fitting. So that sounds a bit better i think! :)
  2. Thanks mate, it'd be good to see what it looks like on a ke70! Well, off to the exhaust shop to see what they got! :)
  3. I'm happy to buy extractors new i reckon, just need to get a decent price for them first! Have you got a pic of your exhaust love_ke70? There's been a few pics on here, but none are of ke70's. Probably popping down to the exhaust place this morning to have a look at what they got, and also to the "4's 6's & 8's shop" here in adelaide so hopefully i'll have some better pricing after that! :)
  4. Yeah, $380 seemed pretty dear for extractors so that's why i wasnt going to pursue it further for a while, but $280 is much more reasonable. I'll do a search on them after :( I reckon black tip would look a bit better too, and it'd probably keep the cost down if its not a "chrome" tip i guess. Definately not paying $70-$80 for a small piece of bent steel though, so i'll keep looking! :)
  5. Ah, might look around to see what the pricing on the tips from other places are. Both places i rang quoted roughly that amount though, so we'll see. If it costs $250 at the end of the day i'll be happy with that. Extractors were about $380 from memory, so i'll shop around and see what i can get them for! :)
  6. Yeah, just made a few calls. Looks like the pricing for a 1.75" system with new muffler is about $180-$200. A 3" droopy tip is about $70-$80, and if i want a hotdog they're about $95. Both places said i can get away without the hotdog, and it'd increase the sound by about 1-2db. Guess i can get it without and see how it is, and if its too much then get one wacked on later. As long as its not farrrrrty I'm not too fussed! Thanks for your help so far guys! :)
  7. Yeah, that might be the way to go felix :) SOmething like yours xany is what i'll be going for i reckon! Cause the engine will only have a new carby, extractors & 25/65 cam (thanks nick!), i reckon i'll stick with the 1.75" system with a smallish droopy tip. Was considering a straight tip but the droopy tip looks good on yours xany so i reckon that's the way to go! Selling my other car tomorrow, so this should hopefully be done within a week or two! Will get some pics up when its done! :(
  8. Thanks Jamie! I'll probably just do the new muffler while I'm at it (depends what the existing one is like i guess). Will keep a look out for the rims too! Exhaust definately needs to be done soon though, as she's getting louder.....sounds nice hearing it rumble when ya back of the gas though :)
  9. Looks nice tiger :) Its good to see what the different styles look like on the cars! Keep em coming guys :(
  10. Looks nice jamie! Some sorta end result like that would be pretty good i reckon! Looks like that tip only just squeezed onto the muffler lol :) On a completely unrelated topic, what rims ya got on there? I'm looking to replace the pizza cutters soon also, so just getting some ideas (saw a set of watanabe's at a local wrecker - city dismantlers in adelaide, but they were 13").
  11. Agreed nick! Anyone else got any pics of a dump pipe setup on their rolla? Will have a browse through the members section also. Are you guys running big or small hotdogs? Or none at all? :)
  12. Yeah, don't want too big a cam if its gonna get mistaken for a rotary :( Ill be happy if i can get it sounding nice and then handling nice! Saw a ke70 with a cannon on it this afternoon and i think that's put me off that idea, so looks like dump tip will be the way to go! :)
  13. Nice pic! Was that the standard muffler and just a tip welded on? I reckon i'll just go a shortish dump tip though :S
  14. Thanks for the advice guys! WIll most likely get this done in the new year when all the shops open up again! Thanks for the suggestion bout the cam too Nick! Will have pics etc up in a few weeks! Only thing to decide is dump pipe or cannon lol. May as well keep it old school and go the dump pipe i reckon! Sounds like redback was a good brand from what was said on your post redwarf, so that may be the way to go! Thanks again :S
  15. Hey guys, i've got a 1983 ke70 with the good ol' 4k. looks like my resonator has s#!t itself tonight (been coming for a while :o - sounds alot throatier though :P ) so I'm gonna be looking at needing to replace it soonish. Was thinking i may as well do a whole new system, and was wondering what setups other guys (or girls) are running on theirs? Probably stick with 1.75" diameter, so was wondering who's running a similar setup, and what its like etc. Will probably look at doing extractors at a later stage (will wait to find some 2nd hand i reckon), so really only looking to do the piping, muffler, and resonator. SO, any feedback on setups you guys are running & cost would be good! Oh, engine is STOCK standard and most likely wont be getting much work other than new carb & extractors done to it, and i'd like to keep costs down slightly :S Its never gonna be a racing car, so i guess I'm just after something with a decent note ;) Thanks guys!
  16. Toyota Car Club seems pretty big with sportivos! Might wanna give that a try :D
