  1. Hi mate, I believe that the cut out only is on the series 4afe engines the where made for the 95, I can tell you that a 20v does not have the relief in the block for the transfer case! However you can grind it back if you want. ( I have done this ) the lump in the floor you speak of is for the cat / muffler on the exhuast . Did /have you measured the tunnel demensions as I thought they were different? The rear you could use a strut type spring/damper combination, over the 5 link solid axle set up, still would be a lot of work though! , what state are you in? Can this be engineered? This of course assumes there is enough clearance for everything? Good luck if you proceed. I have a shell and diff ect...... If you want it.
  2. Hi guys, can anybody identify this steering wheel, i thought maybe early KE or early mazda? spline is different to ke30's thanks
  3. Hi Guys, If there is anybody interested in helping out, the GCTMC Border ranges Rally on the 2nd October is being run down near Kyogle nthern NSW, as always if there is anybody interested in helping out let me know that would be great, always looking for people to man road blocks ect... free camping at the show grounds . Also i believe we may see a 25' running the event as well? Andrew
  4. hey guys, check this out http://www.my105.com.au/classified.asp?id=16381&latest=1 looks the part, bet it goes all right too. i didn't realize they ran these as super tourer's?
  5. if you are talking about using a AE95 4x4 wagon as donor , the rear set up is 5 link ( live axle) very similar (or the same) as a AE86 sprinter, the front set up is basically the same as a front drive AE9x series, just need a bigger tunnel and rear floor. i would think find a rusty 95 and pull it apart.
  6. Hey guys i just think that if you want a corolla keep a toyota engine it, any conversion has its difficulties but hard work and effort will always reward you. Sorry i like to keep it all neat. I don't think that a 3sg is that hard into a 30 / 35 is that hard, the biggest problem is the dizzy/water, simple crank sensor w/aftermarket ecu? and a bit of work.
  7. why not consider a 3sgte keep it in the family??
  8. as in front to rear, seemore motorsport make them (modify them) the rally guys will know, sorry realized that i should have been more specific first up, adjustable bias.? you have two master cyl and a adjustable bar at the top of the brake pedal.
  9. Hey guys, just wondering if anybody here has had a go at building a adjustable pedal box, will be for a KE30 but others might be similar, any thoughts?
  10. i don't think that there is any easy way to get the gearbox out, evertime i have done it ( a few times) i have pulled the whole lot out the top. in sections, because the gearbox in nearly shrink wrapped around the back of the motor i would think that you will have to lift and move the engine to get the box out the bottom. from memory there is 4 x 14mm(spanner size) bolts holding the vacum unit on, 2 from the side and 2 from the top. Good luck
  11. thanks Guys, guess i am just trying to out if i am going to gain a reasonable amount of torque over the 4age, did plan on some stronger rods because i wan't 8000 , plans looks like this, 20v head / new cams 7afe bottom end with new rods / 20v pistons microtech ecu with coil packs and crank sensor its either that or a 3sg? not sure if the 3sg option is worth the trouble of the 7afe
  12. Hey Guys, i fairly new here but i would like to know if anybody has done a 7afe to 20V conversion, and what they thought of it? going to build a Ke 35 hardtop, i have two broken 20v silver tops, so i thought either a 7age20v or a 3sg what do you guys think, car will be a club car and build under sched r rules. still have lots of homework to do though.
