SO tell me how that is affecting your AFR's,spring pressure may be a little different but if the valve is still seating ,openeing and closing at the right timre then shouldn't make any difference.

Yep picking up the cam today and will be into it over the weekend ,new cam specs are 50/86 with .440" lift so we will see how that goes. I'm at 75HP shot now so ill ramp it up to about 110HP and see what happens with the bigger cam and more RPM. ;)

Darren Now i see how you have become confused mate, the ENGINE made 204HP like i said in my first post, not 204HP at the wheels. Mate i would be over the moon if it made 204 at the tyres at only 6000,that is why i am saying that there is a lot more too come from this engine.I have another 2000 RPM to play with and with this new camshaft should see some really good N/A numbers. Yes it is a different setup and its all trial and error (not too many i hope) but at the end of the day its all research and hope that someone will benefit from all the time and money i have and will pour into this project. Cheers Matt

Darren I'm not following what youre trying to imply here, the dyno was a std 4WD dyno setup used to dyno rexs etc.All they do is slide the front half forward and use the back wheel setup. Are you saying that this engine cannot make 205HP because it didn't turn harder than 6000. I'm very confused at why you doubt the outcome of this engine, ive got the o'ring tool and the copper head gasket so i will be back into it soon.Billet conrods are ordered and mark my words there is more too come regardless of whether it adds up or not. Matt :P ;)
-
Please find out where he got them from if you can.
-
Not sure what you mean about what sort of dyno it was, remember i was only turning the engine to 6000 so theres still alot left in it yet i reckon. Billet conrods are on the way.CDI ignition is the only way to go man,it fried the plugs and still manged 200hp with a plug gap of about 5mm. HEHE,we will see soon how much the rods will take. Matt

You bet i will, theres still another 50HP in this engine easy and with the new cam and more NOS we should see it.
-
Done !!!!! MAybe if you can measure the a'series ones when you get time that would be great.
-
Yeah i hope so,hey didn't that fella that was selling angelas turbo engine say that he had studs in that engine. Just found this from a PM he sent me. Untubbed 20 If you want tio use nitrous and boost i would advise you to get a head stud kit made(probally $300) as this is the only thing never done to this motor.

Nick i might find out what thread they are and the length them match some up
-
Nick i have ordered a copper head gasket. Any idea where to get some head studs???
-
Thanks man,$500 bucks. Got one on order so anyone in perth wanna o'ring there block $80. Cheap and can do it in the car. MAtt

Guys Help a man out here,as you know i am getting to the upper limits of the HP capability of the ol 5K and the head gaskets are not handling the HP so what i want to do is locate a tool or make one to o'ring the block. This engine will see another 50HP yet but without the block o'ringed it will keep frying head gaskets. Anybody with any ideas or prior knowledge. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Ok heads off nad it lloks like the head gasket has burnt not blown so I'm in the market for a better one, anybody got any good ideas on where to get one.
-
Just checked the cam timing it looks fine so maybe this camshaft is too small afterall so out it comes, anyway looks like its lifted the head a bit too so ill take it off to check everything anyway. Only a couple of bolts after all. Anybody know where to get a stud kit or the likes to hold this head down better. Matt
-
No shit!!!!(not mean't Scarcastic at you) Not happy jan :P
-
Yeah its been flat ever since i got that camshaft in it and yes it was doing it before the NOS,all the AFR's were spot on . Thats what i thought it was so hence the dyno run and tune ,but seems not. Only giving it 75 shot at the moment but it will take more if i can get the engine to rev properly. Just wondering if ive mis timed the cam or its ben ground wrong.

Mate I'm pretty pissed off about it,there is no other reason to nose over so early as theres still 15oo rpm of power to be made yet.The thing should make 230 ,240 easy man. the head flows well,i mean even a stocker wouldn't nose over that early.32mm chokes on twin 40mm dellortos should be fine ,big kickarse crane ignition system,2" exhaust with extractors of course. It just goes flat you can hear it. Any suggestions

Looks like a galant manifold to me.4G63 ish

Well the day has finally come ,went to the dyno this morning to tune the NOS and the result is [email protected] 275Nm of torque Pretty dissapointed in the camshaft,Camtech 609,it will be coming out in fvour of my last custom grind camshaft.A k series engine nosing over at 6000,i don't think so. All in all pretty happy the engine stayed together and will be removing tha camshaft today and replacing it. tell me what you think,id post the graph but don't knopw how to. Matt

Ok heres the go,i am having trouble finding someone to do my head flowing so i have decided to purchase a flow bench and do it myself. Yes i know what i am doing just don't have access to the flow bench to test my designs so now i will. I will be doing cyl heads for other people but want to master this machine before i commit to customer jobs. Matt
