  1. You need to stop being such an old man when it comes to loud music.
  2. Just took the car out and gave it some much needed T.L.C.- washed, vacuumed, windows cleaned. It is now 100% free of gecko crap. I did have a little set back when I found a family of spiders living in the back of it, but they are now living in my vacuum cleaner.
  3. Ppfftt! It's just one less job for me if someone else is making your lunch, you food-slut.
  4. Yes, yes it is. More and more rust is popping up and I don't have the money to fix it. :(
  5. I got a KPH speedo off Raven the other day. Des also started welding in patches today but we are looking for another car for the more technical bits.
  6. 'The Simpsons' has helped me to understand my philosophy and ethics course at uni. Honestly, if the class has no idea what a particular perspective underpins our tutor does the whole "well if you think of the episode of The Simpsons where ....", and it's like a giant light bulb goes on over every students head. I would be failing uni if it wasn't for Homer and Bart!!! Monty Python, although not a cartoon, is also particularly helpful :jamie:
  7. Someone who deserves a swift kick in the teeth and/or junk...
  8. Found more rust today. Apparently it is really bad. I wouldn't know myself seeming I know nothing about the structure of a car or just how bad rust gets, but I can see it's not good. I'm slowly dying inside. I'm hoping Desmond is willing to fix it, otherwise it looks like I will be sticking with the daewoo. :blinks:
  9. I got out there on the weekend and did the fuel filter and fuel hoses which was easier than I thought, and I should be able to service the car some time this week. I've serviced other cars before so I have a pretty good idea what that involves. Rust repair is being done this weekend (yay!), ordering the tyres today so they should be done soon and then I have an electronic distributor to put in (which apparently I can do by myself- I highly doubt this). I think that's all, after that I think it's all sweet! This little spunkrat of a car should be out on the road within the next fortnight. :D Trev, I am yet to try the hairdryer out on the stickers seeming I can't find mine but I will let you know how it goes when I do eventually find it. Thanks for the advice.
  10. Prepare yourself for a ridiculously stupid question. I finally got around to washing my car today, but there are some old reflective stickers (well i assume that's what they are) on the rear bumper. I tried to pull them off but they are just crumbling everywhere and if I continue picking I will be there for hours. Does anyone on here have any suggestions as to how I might get them off? They look like crap. Any advice would be much appreciated :P
  11. Negative. I bought it from Beenleigh.
  12. I am currently doing an ethics course at uni for my B.Ed... it takes up all my time and drains my will to live.
  13. Maybeh. ;) 'The other half' wouldn't let me mention his name on here.
  14. Haha, you'd be surprised. I managed to find on old mix tape to test it out, from back in the day when my Daewoo was rockin' a tapedeck. I have a backstreet boys tape from primary school too, but I don't wish to desecrate my car with their boyband crap.
  15. Hey again, So I started tinkering with the car this week. While the other half was at work I changed the ignition leads (after I watched him do it on his Ke11). Then he showed me how to do the spark plugs, put in a new air filter and I managed to get the radio and tape deck working. All I can get on the radio is techno crap and news. After playing around with it we figured out the engine fan is out of balance and wobbles, so I have to replace that. I've also got a new fuel filter, oil filter and replacements for the fuel lines to put in. I think I'm slowly beginning to understand how things work in the car. ;) The other half ordered an electronic distributor for me, I have no idea what that is but I guess I'll figure that out once we put it in. Hopefully the rust repair will be done soon and I'll get some new tyres for the car so I can get a RWC and get it registered. Fatty.
  16. I'm choosing to ignore this, because I know you're just jealous of my awesome little car :lolcry: I got spark plugs, fuel filter, oil filter and new fuel hose today, but the other half was too busy playing with his new toy to show me anything, so I shall start learning next weekend. :hmm: Can't wait.

  18. Hi guys. So, I'm new here and this is my first corolla! YAY! My other half has always been a fan of corollas, I guess it has finally rubbed off on me. I've been driving a daewoo for the last four years, so it's a bit of an upgrade in my opinion. I know nothing about cars, I just know I like the look of this one. My other half has agreed to teach me all about the car so I can start playing around with it myself, but for now I'm just happy to cruise around. My plans thus far: Rust repair New Tyres Polish the hubcaps and trims New weather strips Repaint the tail light surrounds New side mirrors All simple things that i can do without much help... I hope. I think this will be a good car for me to learn all the basics. Hope you like it :lolcry: Fatty.
