I thought it was pretty damn cool, even though I'm not the #1 fan of slantys.
  2. Nope, just not the first time I've been slapped.
  3. I swear, if you show up with a handful of rings and an arm of bangles..... I'll... probably... still have to tank it. Damnit, kinda wish I never brought that up now.

I too saw that one a couple of times, and on the second time I went over and parked MY KE70 next to his. And you won't believe what he's got under the bonnet... 4K MADNESS! It's got twin weber carbys, a thermo fan and a gilmer belt driving the alternator. The guy doesn't know what sort of head work has been done to it because he bought it like that, and he's not a member of any of the forums either :(. When I first heard it I thought it was a 4AGZE but a done up 4K's a million times cooler! It was pretty tidy up close, the interior was bloody immaculate! He had an electronic tacho cluster scored off Ebay and retractable seatbelts in the rear (I didn't even think the XX model came out with those). He loved my wing mirror and wanted to replace the awesome black guard mirrors with it.
  5. Yes, mistress.
  6. Put me down as a yes anyway. I'll more than likely come, unless I get more work complications.
  7. You had me worried a few pages back.. I'm going to Melbourne from the 5th to the 12th of May so that would have put me out of it. I do love a good camp. Neurum Creek has a good campsite in this forresty area with plenty of places to go for a wonder. It's unpowered, and costs about $10, but once you see the watering hole a couple of clicks down the road there will be jaws on the floors. I've been camping in a fair variety of places, but the watering hole (particularly after it's been raining and the day clears up) at Neurum is by far the most amazing. There's a small water fall in a rocky crevice, leading down to another, slightly bigger fall about 6 feet high. There's a rock that extrudes from the face of a cliff right above a deep bit of water (natural diving board) maybe 3 or so metres high. Every area is connected to the next by means of eroded cut-outs in the rock. The creek leading on from the falls is shallow enough to stand in some parts, and there's a couple of rock faces to sun bake on. There's also room on the side of the creek to setup a BBQ. And all this can be available for 19,990 drive-away! I know I sound like a salesman, but damnit it's a good place! Anyway, we can always factor that into the next trip...

  9. Oh come on, guys. It's not an interstate cruise, it's a bloody movie! Think about it. How long does it take to throw some clothes on and a squirt of deodorant? I've taken longer craps. Tag that onto about a 40 minute drive and you're parked up in front of the screen with a pie and a beer. The kids aren't THAT bad, I went there last week and you couldn't have made them quieter with duct tape.
  10. Well, if it isn't too short notice, why not tonight? Or if that doesn't suit, tomorrow night??
  11. I don't have anyone to take so I'll just get the loner deal :sob: The movies on until Monday (ends after Sunday, that is) are: Field 1: American Pie: Reunion MA15+ 7:00 PM 21 Jump Street MA15+ 8:45 PM The Hunger Games M 10:15 PM Field 2: Dr. Seuss' The Lorax G 7:00 PM Wrath of the Titans M 8:45 PM John Carter M 10:15 PM Are we going for one movie, two movies or all three? I spoke to the manager (I think) of the place and he said a ticket gets you admission to either field, and any of the films. So if something more appealing comes on the other screen, we can mix & match.
  12. How many of you guys have seen Hunger Games? I've wanted to see that since it came out, but I think they stop showing it at Yatala on Monday or Tuesday.
  13. What's wrong with them? Besides, they're just across the motorway so it's convenient. I'll still get a pie or two if you guys aren't too keen. The speakers they have there aren't too bad. I took a mate in my 70 the other night and they more than did the job.
  14. Yatala Pies is an essential.
  15. Intercourse affirmative I'll show. I'll be a good boy this time..
  16. Greeeeat, I'm gonna get pimp slapped I just know it...
  17. Yeah, really sorry guys, won't do it again. It was pretty dumb :(. Typical age/experience deficiency syndrome. Still, subtracting that from the equation, it was a good day. And if I haven't gone and gotten myself banned, I look forward to next time. P.S. I hereby grant Amber one free slap when she sees me next.
  18. Agreed. I got too cocky and also didn't see the approaching corner until I was, well, on it. Lesson learned though. Scared the crap outta me.
  19. Yep, that's me. Carlos' KE30 was pretty damn nice too. The colours were very similar. Not to mention the awesomeness of the SR20 under the bonnet...
  20. I'm in South Brissy too. You guys wanna meet up somewhere along the way? Somewhere familiar like one of the joints out at Browns Plains, maybe?
  21. If I can stay employed until the end of the week, I'll still be attending...
  22. Oh, here it is! http://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/~/media/c792a0c9-92b1-43ee-933b-7bdd8b20842f/pdf_modification_motor_vehicles2.pdf That's just the guidelines I was referring to. http://www.legislation.qld.gov.au/LEGISLTN/SLS/1999/99SL213.pdf And that's the 164 page Vehicle Standards Regulation form.
  23. By god... Yep, that's the kind of setup I want. So even with TE71/72 crossmember/mounts, I still need a mod plate? Surely the engine bays would be almost identical to each other. Is there any way at all of getting around having a mod-plated 2TG That's kinda what I'm getting at. 2T/3T was and option for the *E7* series corolla. So if I found a TE72 and dropped the engine into a KE70, because they're both *E7*'s, wouldn't that be legal without plates? Laws can be so vague.
  24. Carb was the plan from the start. I don't like any of this fancy electronic gaff; much prefer something with moving parts. I was reading up a bit about laws and whatnot, but I can't find the link. I found out you're only allowed 1 inch wider on wheels (thank the lawd may Carving Heads are 16X7), any engine that was an option for that model car is ok to drop in without mod plates, they even had some stupid mathematic formula for how big your bonnet scoop can be. I'll take another look and see if I can pull up a link for ya. By that token anyway, I'm heavily swayed towards one of the T's. Are the T18 diffs the same length as the KE70's? It looks like my guards will have to be rolled on the rear and maybe even flared on the front to accomodate for my new set of rims, so if the diff is so much as an inch too wide I might need the rear flared too. I want to suss out the diff before anything. That way there'd be a base for the struts/coilovers/wheels side of things. Has anyone stuck a T50 onto a 4K before? If it's a straight bolt-on job, I'll get the full drivetrain setup first.
  25. A diesel has crossed my mind, just for the sheer grunt they produce, but haven't given much thought for the 1C. One of the L engines found in Hiluxes would be nice if the injectors were more reliable and less dear-god-expensive to replace.
