I wasn't that fussed on his mirrors when I saw them. They look good, don't get me wrong, but I like more the look of the big sticky-outty mirrors kinda like on old Dattos. Cheers for the feedback.

I've been itching for a few photos of the slanty and flat fronts side by side. So we went for a bit of a drive out to (quite possibly) THE best meetup point off in the corner of Sunnybank Plaza, on the rooftop car park. It's basically this empty 24/7 from the looks of things. It completely escaped me to take pictures of the engine bays next to one another (ESPECIALLY the slanty), but I'll post up a few when I next get a chance. I'll start off with a few that are sure to please Reed :D aaaaaaaaaaaaand here's a shot of those tertiary bonnet restraints... you know.... for those 200km/h passes an almost standard rolla can achieve, you wanna know your bonnet ain't goin' nowhere... Lastly, I wanna know what you guys think of this sketch I did for the fender mirror setup I'm thinking of doing: The mirrors themselves that I'm looking at are these ones: with the indicators, and I plan on making the arms myself from some stainless (the brackets on these don't let the mirrors clear the bonnet without looking funny).

What's that on? Looks like a really cool design.

Ae86 With 48 Km On The Odometer.
ATOYOTA replied to B.L.Z.BUB's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
You can see from one of the pictures he's got one of those Radical SR8's (with the clinically insane Hyabusa V8) in the background. The guy's rich, and from the looks of it, a wee bit mental. -
WGMG: Missing a shift :D Found out the other night that my fuel door has a whole bunch of light scratches all over it. That was probably from when I brushed the home gym when I backed it to the far side of the carport to look at the fvcking boot leak I can't find... Which brings me to my next hatred.

Furry muff. I only know the basics on how carbies operate, but I still like their relative simplicity over that of EFI.

AAHHHH! MAKE IT STOP PLEEEEAAASE!

Just out of curiosity, why rollback to twin carbs? I thought injection was more fuel efficient/powerful?

I was under the impression it's +/- 1". You also have to factor in rolling diameter and such. For instance, I was eyeing up some 17X8/9.5's for mine and when I asked around all the tyre shops, they said they didn't even have anything close. Go on the tyre shop websites and look up various tyre sizes before you go out and buy some pricey wheels and find out they don't make a tyre for it.

Alternatively, jack the thing up and borrow a mate's spring compressors. For mine though I just did what this guy ^^^^ said.

NOW you're talking!

Nothing current, but I've had things stolen from me and it pissed me off. Just been reading members' posts about cars being pinched and I really feel for them. The most recent was a TA22, fully restored. It was this guy's baby and some wank stain took it. 'Luckily', the morons crashed it on CCTV and the car was recovered, but others haven't been so fortunate. Another member had a KE55 Celeste that, again, was a treasured possession and it was pinched from their own damn property. This one was not recovered, and has probably since been parted and scrapped. So false alarm, but I really do feel for these poor bastards. If it was my car, I'd be head hunting for a prize to mount on the bonnet upon recovery.

Victoria -1975 Celica Ta22 Stolen! Found!!!!!
ATOYOTA replied to AlexDrabble's topic in General Mechanical
Oh thank fvck you found it. Damn shame about the crash, was there much damage? And also, were the perpetrators skinned and salted like I asked?? -
I'm in the dirty south... Brisbane so it's pretty central to either. I just like to drive. There will be less exposure of our sexually stimulating vehicles to the public at Garden City though.

You make sure you skin and salt the rodent that did this. Sorry I can't be of any help but I'm up in Brisbane :( -
What Did You Do To Your Corolla Today??
ATOYOTA replied to dbr11k's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
Don't you worry, I did a good job. Looks clean. It's the Mustangy ones with the torsion pins and lanyards through the grill. When I get my hands on a camera, I'll take a pic or two. -
oooOOOOoooo I do love OEM Toyota tools...

Ke70 Suspension, Brakes, Braces, Seats, Everything Questions
ATOYOTA replied to ATOYOTA's topic in KE70 Technical Questions
I wish I had a camera to take a photo :( -
The 4A-FC and 4A-GE's have the same block though, don't they? Don't see why it'd be any different, being Toyota and all.

Ke70 Suspension, Brakes, Braces, Seats, Everything Questions
ATOYOTA replied to ATOYOTA's topic in KE70 Technical Questions
The coils arrived the other day, and I put the rear ones in on Friday. It handles great in the arse now, albeit a bit understeery. Feels weird and incomplete, but an upgrade's an upgrade. I also put Mustang 'style' bonnet pins in it yesterday and jeeeesus. I thought it got looks before, but once I dropped the arse an inch and fitted the pins, even bitches were starin' :D -
Blue Slip 10 July, Help Needed Seatbelts
ATOYOTA replied to Addicted's topic in AExx Corolla Discussion
I had the same problem. I pulled the assembly out, took the cap off to take a look and.... PEEYOOIIING! The spring just EXPLODED. Don't pull the mechanism apart. I lubed it up, bent the spring back to give more tension, and eventually managed to cram it back together only to find it was in the exact same condition. Go to your local wreckers and find a KE70, then if the reels are better than yours yank the bastards out. When it keeps grabbing and not pulling out it means one of two things: the inertial reel inside the mechanism is gunked up/fvcked, or the ratchet is buggered. The inertial reel is basically a tiny plum bob which flicks a hook up into the ratchet (under gravity forces ie. when you crash/roll or park on a hill :/) and locks your seat belts up. The ratchet (as you probably already know) locks up when you suddenly pull on the belt.
