'07 CH Lancer is piss easy. Next to the sump in the correct direction - that is the end that screws to the block is facing up. Makes for a no-spill affair and even the stone guard is out of the road... Filter's a decent size, none of this pissy micro sized filter crap that most of the A-series motors use

Bhahaha and on that note i made the same discovery but with brake rotors. A front rotor was sticking but cause at the time we was on the market for a house and we was in the "following you" mode chasing after the real estate agent, who wasn't all that slow with last minute turns etc etc. Anywhats, after we had finished for the day had to fill up, pulled into a servo, lent over wheel with sticking rotor, temp test with index finger. And let me tell you the bitter sweet smell of a cooking brake pad mixed with the smell of roosting finger is, well, urm, a bitter sweet memory..... Watching smoke coming off the rotor should have told me something......

Our '07 model lancers doing the same thing ever since we had it serviced at mitsubishi :dance: Before the servicing we could get approx 400-420kays, refilled yesterday with a trip reading of about 320kays and last fill up was around the 350-360 mark. Been wanting the other half to drop in on them and ask what the go is with the economy, would do it myself but with the crap a duckhead has pulled at work has canned the idea of asking to leave work early....

I'd say so cause have a look at the bumper bar and how the hatch comes down and a little past the bar Urm, yes.... lol

Yeeeep me thinks its a fair trade :dance: I'll take your problematic motor and you can have my problematic back yard to mow each and every week :y: But anywhat, i'd start thinking of new top and bottom hoses if the leak comes back again once too often. Not really all that good on the hose if you have to keep tightening the clamp up. I can't really see it being the clamp itself coming loose but it might even be worth a shot in swapping it over with the one on the radiator and seeing what happens..

Industry :dance: haven't really thought all that much to what industry i'm in, but i work as a storeman filling out purchase orders for a fairly broad range of companies that we supply - tool shops, car/truck shops (eg panel beating), house builders, furniture builders, White goods suppliers, meat works, produce farms

You aren't really having a good run with that motor are you JiP ? If you get sick of it, toss it my way. And as payment, you can mow my backyard for me. How old's the hose ? Cause they can deteriorate on the inside to such a point where they'll leak and/or split or burst

Mate, that sounds so much like ol' "Dig-It" Dave at work its not funny..... Thinks he knows this that and everything in-between and therefore he's correct on everything and you can't tell him differently... Man, i'm over it. I've worked with difficult work mates before but not ones that'll back stab or place their faults and phuck ups on other people. Yeah going from hot to cold and back again can bring on a cold. Just like the weather itself can do the same thing and bring on a cold. But talking about the weather, went into work today feeling a bit under it and got pulled aside by my supervisor who told me that the boss has been told that i tend to wander off and can't be found for ages, i'm hardly ever around when there's work to be done, i'm really really slow at doing my job of picking orders, i'm never organized in picking the orders, most times the orders have to be corrected. Stood there for a bit talking to my supervisor about it and he reckoned it was total crap and told me just keep doing what i'm doing but just make sure i keep my nose clean mainly around the guy who said the crap cause he's just trying to cover his arse with the phucking around he does all day. What tends to grind the gears a bit is that this guy is a supposed christian and yet if you ask him about doing something (eg - taking the delivery truck out for a drop off) he'll stand there and argue with you about it, if he phucks an order up its your fault so you fix it, he'll stand in your road and/or try and block you, orders everybody around including the supervisor and the one that tends to really top it off is that if your kneeling on the ground or sitting on the ground doing something he'll walk past on purpose and fart in your face. But while the boss is around he's all chummy chummy with who ever is near by And yet he's a supposed christian :lolcry: In a way, can't blame him cause we're all a little scared of whats happening with the employment situation and losing our jobs but i don't really truly believe there's any need for phuckin back stabbing and lies just to make one's self look better to someone else who can do the right job the first time around without the bitching, arguing, phuck ups etc etc :)

The bag to fit the motor in ? We sell Polyethylene bags at work that'd be big enough to fit the whole motor and gearbox in if you get really disparate lol And that, sir, could very well be the problem then

Risking damage to the joint in doing that with the grips. And the bolt (or joint) shouldn't really "drop down" at all, cause its the nut that pulls (or pushes) the arm over the taper and making a solid fit. Not really fussed on the idea of hammering the arm, near a "square" hit (hammering on both sides at once)

:hmm: can you lift the bolt up ? The ball joint might very well be stuffed if you can. Other then that, did you re-pack the joint with grease ? Might have squeezed in too much. If thats the case try with fitting the strut back in, just nip up the nuts at the tower, shouldn't really have to worry about the ones on the steering arm and get the jack under the control arm and lift it a little. Pull the strut back out and see how it went. Their about the only things i can think of why its like that. Cause the joint should be a tight fit, due to its taper, but only after you've got the nut back on and started tightening it up

Just remember what "assume" means ASS of U and ME and its always the simple things that can cause the most trouble

Interesting ways of doing it I've done adams way a few times - and all i've ever used is a breaker bar.... Just don't fully undo the nut. to make undoing the nut on the shock easier later on down the track, make sure the notch in the shock (just below the thread) is lined up and fits into the notch of the top hat. That way you've got something to properly hold on to. And ball joint breaker If its what i'm thinking of get a jack under the control arm near the ball joint to lift it up a little

This kinda reminds me of the time my uncle was complaining of his camry having a lot of oil leaks etc etc mechanic after mechanic after mechanic as he drove back from darwin couldn't figure out where the leaks were coming from till one at gympie pulled off the hose that goes from the cam cover to the carby and tried blowing through it.... it had that much carbon and crap in it, it wouldn't even bend. Couple of bucks later and no oil leaks

The girlfriend had a bit of fun on thursday. Pulling into a car park and misinterpreted what the pedals of the car do... in better words, she thought the accelerator was the brake.... ran up the gutter and now the bonnet doesn't shut fully First panel shop she got a quote from i really thought the guy was on drugs or something, over 5 grand he reckoned. Got the second one today - just a bit over 3 grand :dance: Just what the @#$%#%&^%@#%^% did you hit ???? A bloody garden gnome with a damn tool kit just waiting on the third and fourth quotes to come in :) Thank :P we have comprehensive insurance going to hurt the rating a little but oh well what else can you do with a bit of gutter rash

Remote filter, maybe ? Was looking it doing that with my old seca. The plan was of being able to use a bigger and cheaper filter for a falco-dore. Might do it for the '55, i don't know yet depends on what motor i wind up using G13B :)

Found out today from one of the delivery drivers that some of the business that we supply products to have been cutting back on their staff. One of the places has cut back about 2 thirds of their employees..... Not good, not good at all.....

Yeah i thought that as well till i had to hand over its serial number and just next to it was its build date of 2006-11-13. And i bought the system brand new around august last year and with a current operating system version. And on that note i've come across a linux site that says some of the systems might be also be brand spanking new but their operating system version is dated from a few years back. So when you go to buy one check its build date - you should be able to see it though to hole in the box that showing what the xbox's serial number is....
