  1. Cheers mate :P
  2. WGMG - the hire car that we're having to drive while the lancer is getting its panels beatin' Its an '07 holden Barina selfshifter shut box - 70 bucks a day to drive this horrid piece of crap for a whole week of pure torture. It supposedly has a 1.6litre twincam under its bonnet the tacho red lines at 7 grand, but i'm so glad foot flat to the floor it shifts gears at around 5 grand its its its :P its to bother some anywhere near that to say the least of it... otherwise the gearshift from 1st to 2nd is nice and smooth - it just revs the ring out of itself as it changes gears drops back down to a lower rev and your in 2nd (lancer has a little jolt about it)... sit in the drivers seat and its like sitting in a babies highchair, almost have to lean over to reach the handbrake and yet to see where the bonnet ends just about have to stand up, anything past the washer jets is a deadzone. On that, visibility around the thing is shocking to say the least (lancer has a few poor spots...). Lever for the fuel cap - check its down between the drivers highchair and the door. Now where is the damn boot release lever - i'll be damned if i'm using the remote all the time... hang on, its the little button on the drivers door next to the speaker. Crikey i could just go on and on about the poo on wheels.... Yes it does have a couple of good things about it and one being that we hand the bucket of crude back on saturday :( Edit - driving at night is like playing Russian roulette - Braille by torch light would be easier
  3. Many thanks people Went out for dinner friday night :( Its my daughters birthday tomorrow (17th) so we had a little party for her on saturday. I more or less shut myself in the bedroom for a few hours, just not my scene.... mind you my son was going nuts cause of all the girls. And part from that just general round the house catch up jobs... :y: Still haven't been able to have a birthday drink yet :P
  4. Had the lancer put in for 3 grands of panel work today. Kicking myself for not getting around to take photos of the damage the garden gnome did... But anywhat, have to put up with driving a hire car for the week... '07 model holden barina and Oh My God the damn thing can't just can't even kick a wheel in the wet......
  5. Yeah you could use the k-series box but you'll need to find a a-k bellhousing for it cause you wouldn't be able the standard bellhousing to fit the box up to the a-series motor. And the other but to it is that finding a a-k bellhousing would be an uncommon chance and on that note they tend to hold their value very very well. Your best bet would to hunt down a t-series box from an a-series rear drive car and make sure you also grab the bit from the tailshaft that fits to the gearbox, t-series and k-series are different on the output shafts.
  6. So sorry to hear that :lolcry: Its just plainly wrong when something like that happens
  7. Yes yes they do. Here in toowoomba their also getting around in three holden utes (ones a base spec looking thing and the other two are hsv marloos or something), a supercharged commodore (at least thats what i've been told) and a hsv commodore. And at one time two hot chickie cops were getting around in a riced up lancer. The 300c here has been modded a little - big chrome mags, lowered, dark tinted windows and a thumping exhuast
  8. Sweet now i know the present i want from the girlfriend.....
  9. Nice what is it ?? Ah, cool :) a racing buggy rock buggy is more fun but still way cool
  10. The leading pair of bolt holes on the backing plate are the same but the trailing pair are different locations. Top one is about 10mm higher, bottom one is a few mill lower. As seen from where the caliper is yeah, hehe About an inch and half shorter for the '70. But the springs are longer on the '70 Forgot that one. Try some longer arms. Sigma ? You sure the rods on the shocks aren't bent Yes Edit - just cleaned up my comment a little. And bit like Taz said below, it'd be a downgrade in brakes going away from the '60 gear. Have a search around the forum there's a thread or two on the ra60 struts
  11. Just listening to the news and all these placing crying out for staff. As long as your a junior and/or experienced. Reminds me when i was on the dole and being told there's tons of jobs out there.... just look in the paper and job boards etc.... send in a cover letter and resume.... But i don't have what their asking for.... so? send them one... Made me glad they paid for the wastage. Like, wow, KFC needs 15,000 new staff..... yeah 15,000 juniors.... Aldis crying out for staff..... sorry, but you don't have what we need (and it was just a shop assistants position she applied for) And having to work with an arrogate phuck that has his head that far up the bosses arse he needs a flash light and compass so that he can find his way home....
  12. What kind of camber issues ? Positive or negative ? Might have to try different length lower control arms. Don't quote me, but i don't think they'll fit the '60 struts Both the same. But the later '55 has better calipers. Ke70 is the same as well. The only really difference between the '55/'30 and '70 is the springs are skinners on the '70, their one sided only (left side will only fit the left side. Unlike the '55/'30) and the top hats are different. If your running ra60 struts. I'd keep them cause of the bigger and better brakes There is a thread or two on using the ra60 struts
  13. I know the feeling with that. Which leads to my OMG is that for the past week work has really slowed down to a point yesterday we had about five orders to fill for the whole day. Cleaning something thats already clean gets a bit much. Which had management walking around preying like vultures or something looking for staff cuts. But today it was totally different, one guy down and no time to even scratch one's rearend. One company that had been on hold cause of overdue accounts has finely had their debt paid off and their orders are just flying in. It was like "Oh My God", we have real work to do and not make work things. Hope it lasts...
  14. Rabbit road kill is also a white meat.... But can't blame her for getting pissed off, i'd want my money back as well but i wouldn't go stupid and ring triple zero
  15. I don't really think anybody in their right mind would want to read through 3 pages of crap just to get to something of interest In total agreement with the OMG thread. But in someways we're just acting like typical politicians and going around in circles and skirting the real question - "What is Off Topic?" Off Topic to me is - - things not related to the automotive sections - and i've lost my train of thought cause of dealing with kids
  16. I'll agree with that But i'm tending to haunt the off-topic areas more and more cause there's really nothing moving in the auto sections that i haunt. Yes, thats bugging the crap out of me. PM or phone or whatever. Just doesn't look good to your image, their image and the forums image. I'm voting no, can see it getting ugly after a very short time. Or like Felix said "use the Regional subforums" and turn the post count off Some of the other forums that i tend to troll have moderators that look after sections of the forums. That is "God" overlooks the whole lot but cause he has "Son of God" looking after the boys area and "Daughter of God" looking after the girls area, "God" isn't getting all crabby etc having to look after the whole flock. Think its a great idea, bit like a workplace - supervisors taking care of their sections and only taking it up the ladder if there's some thing they themselves can't handle. Leaving the manager to get on with what they have to do. And as a note I don't do msn the girlfriend does but i get bored and fed-up really quick with it
  17. Oh man, that just gives me chills would be interesting to see it a rego'd tarted up granny spec cock a front wheel at the lights street sleeper.....
  18. Yeah so ? And his point being ? His point is most likely that he's realizing that he's a worthless piece of.... and he's taking it out on you You should stand up to him and tell him either cut the crap if he really wants to be with you or phuck off cause you don't need the crap. WGMG - "dig about" Dave - he who thinks he's the supervisor, doesn't have to listen to anybody, cbf about returning a "Mornin, how is ya?". Today almost gave him a slap to the back of the head cause he was telling the super that his way was the correct way and only way of checking off bags of render rock (type of cement). Normally i'm a peaceful, caring, easy to get on with, thick skinned, who'll give a friendly jab type of guy but "dig about" is really starting to get on my nerves
  19. Couple of things - just be on the safe side with breakables - clearly mark in red nikko, paint pen, etc "FRAGILE" and package well - even knowing that the company is reputable, its more or less the driver themselves who'll be dealing with the item/s. In saying that some take care while others are just plainly carefree. - and on the note of fragile goods i've seen tv's bundled in with big heavy unbreakable stuff. In turn, that, in a way, falls onto the driver in taking care of what he/she is carrying. - but also note, is that most of the companies just ask for weight, size, pallet/carton, dangerous goods and destination and not much else like what the contents are....
  20. Doesn't sound right. Running the thermostat ? Should have the thermostat. Could even be a faulty water pump or the temp sender, cause all in all it shouldn't take anything more then 15 minutes running to get to temp. As a quick check how hot is the top hose after 15-20 minutes. Hot - sender, cool - pump (unless you don't have the thermostat) Mind you it is only a rough guide cause you could even be running an oversized radiator which is keeping the coolant cold
  21. Lj - yeah i know the feeling with that one, an ex of mine did the same thing. Till i realised after i finely took my rose coloured glasses off, that she was more messed up then i had thought Johno - live it single for a while. Do what you want, when you and who you want.... nice choice of wording there lol
  22. One of the forks that i use to drive many years ago was powered by datsun, datsun a12 that is. But yeah the 4k powered forks are out there
  23. Good ol' "dig it" dave threw a tantrum today kicking a few packaged cartons, slammed the door of the delivery ute all cause he was asked to make a delivery since our delivery driver was busy. The supervisor was standing next to him while he spat the dummy and after "dig it" he turned around to us "This is getting beyond a phucking joke, i'm telling the manager." I know its wrong to say cause the guy has three kids and a wife to feed but i've got my fingers crossed that he gets the boot.
  24. One can only be hopeful  What makes it even worse is that their even being shown during day time tv and when the kids are more then likely watching the idiot box. And yet it seams like the censorship add has disappeared from the tv
