  1. Hello Hello. After much searching, I've found some answers yet nothing really definative. Can anyone shed some light on the following?: - ae86 tie rods and ends into ke30 - ae86 steering knuckles into ke30 Possible? Been done? etc. I've already got my ke30 struts converted to coilovers, adjustable LCAs and tension rods from T3. I was looking through their 86 catalogue and became curious as to applicability. Reason mainly being I don't want to run standard OEM items if possible. Thanks in advance Rone
  2. Thanks mate, that s13 will be the death of me though...
  3. Yahoo auctions japan. Its just a fibreglass copy, but it didnt require too much tidying up or modification.
  4. Thanks for the kind words guys, appreciated. Because life doesn't move to the beat of one drum, what might be right for you.... Hey mate yeh I spotted that little gem straight away, it was dead clean - should be very proud of it Saw a few other familiar faces again this year that unfortunately I didn't get to say hello to, sorry about that. Cheers bud. It can also translate roughly to "white boy" or "white boss". :)
  5. thanks mate, hopefully snap up some new shots this weekend
  6. Hey guys. This is my little '77 ke30 sedan daily drive - Shiro-Bōzu. The name is Japanese for a white spirit. I felt the name to be pretty fitting. I'm the second owner of the corolla, the first was an elderly lady who'd had it since new. The car came with every single service reciept including original purchase papers and only had 76xxx genuine k's on it at the time I purchased it in 2011. It currently has 91xxx on the clock. I also swapped in a low km 4k engine last year after the old faithful 3k decided to part ways with reliability. I got a little carried away, as we all do....and started modifying it with some basic mods. Probably not the smartest idea seeing as most of my funds should be going towards my never ending s13 build. Ironically, that's called the Shinigami, which is essentially a Death Spirit, or Soul Reaper. For those interested: http://nissansilvia....=432891&st=1170 Granted, some people aren't going to like the fact I've taken away from the ke30's originality...but oh well. I'll try get some more pictures soon, possibly this weekend if weather holds out - however here's one for now from last weeks Winterfest. At the moment she's copped: - chrome fender mirrors - chin lip moulded into apron - Nardi deep dish woodgrain steering wheel - T3 coilovers with camber plates up front - lowering blocks in rear - tsurikawa for passenger - JVC headunit and parcel shelf 6x9's - 14x6.5+7 work excels up front with spacers - 14x8-3 ssr riversides on rear - custom stainless weathershields - lowered 3inches all round - thermo fan Plans for the rest of the year are: - reset the leafs properly in the rear to sit closer to 4inches - lower the front accordingly to match - upgrade the front brakes - get adjustable lower control arms and tension rods - new wider/better front wheels That's pretty much the plan anyway. In the distant future I'd love to convert it over to manual and have a tough little 4k with bike carbs built and perhaps a full respray. ....one step at a time though. Thanks Rone
  7. What a great day. Thanks for putting on an awesome event.
  8. Thanks guys, that's helped alot. I'll go have a look at that jaycar kit this weekend and see if it'll be suitable. Cheers.
  9. Hey guys, just a quick one... My locks are all perfect, however I'm looking at getting a boot spoiler similar to the old te27 style which I know will fit with minimal modifications. The problem is it'll require removing the boot lock completely, so I'll need to set up a keyless entry for it. Anyone got any info on how to go about this? Kits on the market? Other alternatives? Thanks in advance.
  10. Bringing my little white ke30 down now that the quarter panel has been repaired! :)
  11. Haha I don't know, the damage is pretty horrible - I'm rather ashamed.
  12. Funny that, I've rung multiple Pedders and none have been able to even source a listing for the required shocks. Perhaps they have supplied you the latter ones to suit the 51mm housing. Plenty of the old Datsun boys simply just get the wet legs reco'd and modified to suit their needs and at around the same cost as new inserts or cheaper, seems a viable choice.
  13. Yeh that's true. Cheapest I've found online is $150+$150shipping for the inserts. Might just get the wet-legs rebuilt instead, got quoted around $300 so it's worth it.
  14. Yeh I think I read through that thread, he'd ordered post86 design change when they went to a 51mm diameter housing. Thanks for that Rian, looks like ebay it is.
  15. Hello Gents, After a week of ringing what seems like evryone in the Melbourne Metro area, I have had NO luck chasing down the required MR2 Aw11 (85-86) rear shock inserts to build my ke30 coilovers with. I don't want to have to order from overseas if I can help it, I'm pushing for time at the moment and would prefer local supply. After reading many threads, I know Tokico and KYB make them. Nobody locally seems to be able to get Tokico, and those who can get KYB are useless thus far - plus the website only has listings for SW20 onwards. Can someone please provide me with either: - somewhere within Melbourne that can source them - online Australian website you can buy from - another suitable alternative (I heard VN Commo will work?) Thanks in advance guys. Josh
  16. hopefully can get my quarter panel repaired in time to attend without looking like crap :(
  17. Hey guys. Got a leak from my speedometer driven gear and it needs to be replaced. The leak is coming from within the sleeved unit, I think a bush or o-ring/seal has perished and the fluid runs down the cable. It's a 3speed [borgy?] i think from memory. Can't obtain the whole assembly as a new part [either aftermarket or genuine] anymore however can purchase a few of the seals inside. My concern is I'll damage the unit seperating it. Ideas? Thanks.
  18. Being that ae86 struts/coilovers are a direct bolt in for the ke30 [aside from top hat] it makes more sense to just get t3 to make you a set of ae86 coilovers with the ke30 top camber plate hat. Obviously brakes will need upgrading accordingly, however seeing as the stock ke30 brake setup is an essential death trap perhaps it's not a bad idea.
  19. Hmmm thanks for the good information regarding the T3 gear. I don't like the sounds of what you've mentioned and have read similar on the 86 forums. The HSD's seem a viable and better alternative for not much extra money spent, and I can still run the t3 camber plates etc from T3 with them. Problem solved. What size sleeve kit suits the stock ke30 strut? 48mm? KE70DAVE: Probably want the whole car dropped 3-4inches from standard OEM height. It's close to 2inches lower than stock at the moment and still looks like a monster truck. Cheers
  20. Thanks for the help guys, looking into it now.
  21. So obviously xt130 struts are a direct bolt on as far as shock/strut is concerned. Can you get coilover sleeve kits for these? The reason I'd like to not go that route is I'd then have to upgrade the brake setup, and thus the snowball effectively takes shape. If you can retain the ke30 brake arrangement on the 130 struts that'd be good however I don't see that being possible? Mind you I'd like to keep things relatively on a budget as all my money goes towards my s13.
  22. Won't be doing any spirited driving, it's my daily grocery getter. I just want the bastard low down and dirty.
  23. Hello Gentlemen. Have a few questions regarding the suspension on my little ke30. I have an s13 and every suspension component in that thing, however when it comes to the 'Rolla - I'm clueless. Foreign ground. It's time for an upgrade - I want the car lower, and several of the stock items are perished so why not go all out. Have my eye on these products: https://technotoytun...com/toyota/ke30 Now whilst the lower control arms and tension rods are straight forward, I'm confused about the coilover setup. I can only gather the camber plates will bolt to the existing strut top. My question is - what's the best way of utilising the GroundControl kit? I'm going to need to purchase new shocks as it is anyway due to mine being old and tired. I've read people saying you need to shorten the shocks [either corona etc] Can I just use the ke30 shocks or no? Is there a shorter stroke shock on the market available instead of hacking away? Suggested spring rate? 4kg? 6kg? [i run 6kg in the s13 and that's unfriendly to the spine at times] Also, I can't weld. Any other help appreciated. Thanks In advance. Josh
