  1. Apologies to Evan for my paranoia haha. Was great to meet you guys, hopefully catch up again soon.
  2. Will the police be in attendance? I'm long overdue for a yellow sticker. ^ You have one post and it "coincidentally" just so happens to be in a meet up thread, so naturally suspicions are raised.
  3. Boss kit was just a generic unit from memory off ebay. I had a shop do the coilovers for me as I can't weld, plus the wetleg inserts were also shortened to match the housing, There's tutorials on youtube if you're keen to have a crack at it yourself. Thanks for the kind words. Alignment I had done wasn't agreeing with me so I had it altered. Now runs slightly less camber, I think around -3.8 as opposed to it's -4.2 that it had, with better toe settings. Feels a lot nicer now which is a bonus. Getting some hubcentric 5mm spacers for the rear along with extended studs as I'd like the rear wheels to sit that bit more flush. Spoiler is on its way from Malaysia at the moment and will be going into the panel beaters in a fortnight to have sorted, once I install my remote boot pop kit. Going to put a short promo clip of this together by November, provided nothing goes wrong by then. Then it's done. Until the motor dies. Then it's rebuilt 4k, bike carbs, repainted engine bay, wire tucked and more fun things. Let's hope that doesn't occur though as I am poor and should be spending my money on my s13 instead of this. Thanks guys.
  4. this is going to be wicked.
  5. Thanks Ben, however this is my messy, slap together quickly car haha. Spoiler should be arriving in a couple of weeks, then it's off to the panel shop to have it fitted and painted along with the bootlid. Will endeavour to get my front bumper straightened out whilst at it. I forgot to mention, with hot weather quickly approaching, I got around to installing a water temp gauge and new sensor the other week too, utilising a tutorial written up on the site. Hopefully smooth sailing temp wise from now on. Had my alignment this morning, weather was nice so I took some photos in the driveway. [ Thanks for dropping by. Until next time...
  6. Thanks heaps guys, means alot Adam. Doogs I'm not too sure about postage cost off my head, though I do remember it being more than what I would have preferred to have paid. That being said, everything I've purchased through T3 has arrived in about a week from day of order and packaged well so that's pretty nice. Still haven't got around to getting new photos, the girl has been off the road for a week now. I installed my new T3 LCAs to have the toe settings hate me. Bought some RA40 tie rod tubes and new tie rod ends whilst things were apart and slapped them in too, and dialed back the arms for a bit more for sensible amount of camber as opposed to the stupidity of how I'd originally adjusted it. New wheels had tyres swapped onto them from my old rims and were put on, sits peachy with about -2 camber which is ideal for daily duties. Getting a proper alignment done this weekend. Ordered new guard indicator lights as mine were mismatched as well as a boot spoiler to complete my Shakotan appearance. That's about it really, hopefully photos soon. Thanks.
  7. Yeh awesome, cheers. I'd like to run a mild cam, something that has a nice lumpy idle that won't be annoying for a daily drive, along with either bikecarbs or twin sidedraft webers, extractors and exhaust. Aside from that, I guess just a standard rebuild/freshen up. I'm able to get a 4k ACL complete engine rebuild kit for $260 so that's not bad, it's just the rest that adds up quick...
  8. Hey guys, don't know if I should put this in here or Regional section, but I felt more fitting to here. I'm looking at getting my 4k rebuilt soon, not only for reliability but for a bit more zip. I have a basic understanding of what I would like done to it, however I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction with regards engine builders that have had experience doing a hot little 4k, or who perhaps specialise in them within the Melbourne metro region. If those could share experiences / recommendations that'd be great. Thanks in advance.
  9. Coilover sleeve kit for the fronts. I've just converted my OEM shocks into coils via this method. OR, choose a different shock [xt130, ke70, ae86 etc] and do the brake upgrades and other neccessary requirements at the same time. Converting the rears to a 4Link setup is too costly and not viable unless it's a damn drag car. Just get them professionally reset.
  10. Here's my new T3 Adjustable LCA's. And the newly painted centres on my MK2's. Bolts now installed since then too. Thanks Chris. Yup, just ke30 struts. Strut housing was shortened 2inches and the wetleg inserts were done much the same. Spring rate is 5.6kg from memory. I like the way the car handles, it's a pretty raw feeling. There's essentially no body roll and the slight camber up front helps heaps with turn ins. Ideally it should be raised a bit as there's next to no suspension travel but having an s13 you grown accustomed to little or no luxuries.
  11. Just bought a remote boot release kit from Jaycar, so it looks like a spoiler will be on it's way soon to complete my exterior. My new T3 Adjustable LCAs rocked up this week, so they'll be installed sometime soon along with the new wheels - then it's off for an alignment. Pics coming.
  12. Awesome. What flares are they? Great fitment.
  13. I know the steering knuckles will go in, along with the struts. The question is, will the other components go in without the strut being installed? I don't want to have to sell off my ke30 coilovers in exchange for 86 units if it can be helped.
  14. After a quick bit of investigating part numbers at work...I have discovered this. Perhaps not exactly groundbreaking news to some, however would be keen to hear your thoughts. KE30: Hub: 43502-12040 Backing Plate: 47704-12041 Bearing: 90368-29068 Seal: 90311-41123 KE70: Hub: 43502-12040 Backing Plate: 47704-12090 Bearing: 90368-29068 Seal: 90311-41123 AE86: Hub: 43502-12070 Backing Plate: 47704-12110 Bearing: 90368-29068 Seal: 90311-41123 The italic part numbers / items are the ones that are different. Here's my query....Obviously the brakes are different, hence backing plate to accomodate rotor and caliper sizing... But the rest is essentially the exact same with exception to the AE86 hubs. I've heard people using AE86 hubs on ke70's, so technically, they should be a direct bolt on to KE30/55's?! The reason I ask is because I've converted my ke30 struts to coilovers and would like to use the wilwood brake upgrade from t3 in future, and knowing the hubs will bolt directly on as so I can utilise the kit will make things so much easier for me.
  15. Thanks mate. This is just my daily run around car, and as cool as I think it is, I don't love it enough to give it my usual OCD treatment that the Nissan receives. It is what it is I guess. Also found some old macro pics I took amongst some new average mobile phone shots. Side shot. Bam. Front wheels to be replaced soon at long last. Will be for sale as a set, so PM me if keen. My current rear wheels after I cleaned them up and repainted the centres. These will need rebarrelling as they've seen better days and the chrome is lacklustre. When I had the coilovers built. Cleaned the lips on the new MK2's this weekend as well as sanded and prepped the centres for painting. Here's some old photos I found floating about. I endeavour to get heaps of new high quality photos soon, however I want the car aesthetically 'finished' to a degree before I do. Thanks
  16. Thanks dude, love your little 30. Bought some shank nuts. They didn't fit. I filed the holes out on the wheels. Now they fit. Me win. Also managed to buy all the new hardware for the wheels, so I can finally get rid of those horrible rusty items over the next couple of nights. Painting the centres is next to attend to and if funds permit, getting new Falken tyres all round.
  17. Are you planning on keeping it as it is, being a "converted" n/a? or turbo? Running a det motor as an n/a will be rather subpar due to the low comp etc. either sell it and get a de motor or put back all the turbo running gear.
  18. Dear Christ what flares are they?! DO WANT!
  19. New front wheels arrived this week from Japan. SSR MK2s...14x7.5-6 in size. Should sit nice with a couple degrees of camber. Need to acquire some shank nuts for them and hardware to replace rusty nuts and bolts, then paint centres gold. That's the mission for the next fortnight whilst I wait for my new T3 LCAs and Tension rods to arrive. Also looking at getting new tyres all round as the current Kumhos are pretty subpar.
  20. I get alot of play with the steering box haha. I just have a gripe with running old outdated parts. If I'm going to be replacing a majority of components I'd rather be doing it with better designed aftermarket products than cheapish OEM style replacements where possible, and being there's not a great deal available in terms of ke30, 86 gear seemed plausible to explore.
  21. I'm hearing mixed statements about the whole can and can't with regards the usage of the steering arms. I know you can with ke70 struts, well, that's been said before somewhere...but they run a 51mm strut if that makes a difference. I'm still using the 48mm ke30 assembly. Would rather get these over OEM items, more lock and definately beefier. https://technotoytun...ds-ae86-corolla Reason why I'm looking into this is because I'm planning for the future. I want the car to be ready to handle well when I eventually do an engine conversion etc. Leads to other questions: Can you run the tie tod ends? If so, what about the rods themselves...hmmm.
