  2. was the plug behind the dash for the clock ? MarcusEstevez
  3. Oh I will say, I have an AE80 with surface rust that I better get on to in the roof channels
  4. Hiro Protagonist if the rust repair was done right it should not be reoccuring
  5. shit, put me in town your in. I have yearly inspections. a little spot of rust in your sill or wheel arch is an instant fail
  6. First cop that walks along side that car to do a Random breath test in his right mind WILL defect it. Patch that rust before your gf takes it out and do not take it out fri/sat night lapping
  7. Just read the whole lot, and my last comment was an understatement. Nice work, great build up, and great posts. However I am confused. I have an AE80 and you have said yours is an 82 ? looks to me like it has AE80 front guards and park/indicator lights in it with an AE80 front bar
  8. Love that last photo where you are sticking it up the Commonwhore
  9. Plenty of slack in cable, backed it right off
  10. correcting repeat from computer lag in posting, kept clicking submit. sorry
  11. Thanks TRD Ke70, she won't kickdown until 80-90% throttle, fluid checked... bit more of a symptom. Get to the correct speed/rpm lift off throttle, then it shifts
  12. Ok, so there is a vacuum hose on the AE80 Trans ? I can't find it
  13. Can't damn well believe it. After all the work I've done, on the way for blue slip inspection the car would not give me top gear (3 spd. Auto) Tried rocking it 2-D D-2 etc. I have adjusted the carby and am wondering if it is the kick down cable at 80, lift the foot off and it goes into drive, hold it down a bit and it snaps in at 90 at say 60 lift your foot off slowing down for a corner it might go into drive. Should there be any play in the kickdown cable or should it be taught. Please Help I had one quote to rebuild at $1000, but it sounds something stupid
  14. Hey carbonboy... If you do a 4AGE conversion I would love your driveline, seriously !!!
  15. Mines worse carbonboy a 2a with a spd auto... keep the revs up and she is still a go kart on 14" Seca Rims/CSX for wider rubber
  16. Sorry Misunderstood you I think it's only the 4AGE struts 4 bolt that can be reversed ?
  17. carbonboy, Just checked mine again. She is a non-seca hatch with a 2A-LC motor and I have the one facing the front and Left and right used. Rear bolt hole has black plugs in both sides. I heard current way is Granny handling and reversing it it makes them more aggressive
  18. I have noticed for a long while that under the bonnet there are 4 holes at the top of the strut, but only 3 holes used. I have read some where that if lh rh struts are rotated to the other sides and the opposite holes are used this makes handling more assertive. It could of been in one of my many dreams or I did in fact read it somewhere and can't find where. I have no Idea what I would search for. I am only a noob, and due to this I thank and welcome your advice
  19. My attitude as an up and coming 30 year old p plater again :( is that I am going to get my second Rolla registered as a 4AGE in my Girlfriends name, then Transfer it. If they attempt to tell me it is modified I will be explaining my platform was fitted with A 4AGE and as such due to the motor being better for the environment and a more economical choice... And I will contest the RTA morons... and besides it is still a 1.6 with a 4A engine no I hope
  20. I just pulled one out to clean it, think I have let it go to far back in as it just grabs... bolted it back in the car to get the angle right and it just grabs, won't give ?
  21. Booked the car in for Rego, and realised today that my seatblts in the front are not retracting properly, they need to be fed back in and they take up the slack as I go... Is there anyway of lubricating it to get through rego or adjust it Or am I just screwed and need to fork out 150 per side on after market ?
  22. So Trev, You've done it in Reverse and it worked ?
  23. My 2A-C Distributor (AE80) has bearing noise as loud as the motor running. Can I take a 4A-C Distributor (AE82) distributor out of my wreck and swap it or is the mechanical/vac advance curves different. Need to know soon as the car does country driving and I am about to put it off the road. All help appreciated as my manuals don't tell me anything and I couldn't find anything in search. Damian
