Wedding Cars Needed For October 5Th - Cash Paid
lyricallyters replied to ke70kid's topic in SA / Adelaide
I'm having a wedding in december and am also looking for some other cars, if anyone has anything and would like to be involved, please inbox me thanks!! -
Hey guys, I'm writing to see how many of you guys on here have a nice clean early model corolla that we will be able to hire (you drive your own car) for around 6 hours. The wedding will be held in Mclaren Flat on the 6th December this year. If anybody has any contacts, or car and the day free, please email me on [email protected] as I don't come on this site as much as I used to. To be more specific, I am after anything in nice clean condition, from 1960s-1980s, crown, Cressida, preferably corolla, show me what you got! You will definitely be getting paid for the day and your car will be part of our wedding! Thanks guys!

nice work mate it would be a shame for you to sell it such a good example of what a ke30 should look like!

Just off eBay mate, there are a few similar styles on there. These are chrome/stainless steel

Cheers mate!

Not a lot more to update with other than some nice clean oil plugs and leads. I got myself a jaf badge for the grill and some rain guards from a seller on this website. Pretty happy with the look so far just need to find some new window seals as the original ones have gone brittle and I lost parts of them. Does anyone know where I can get new window seal from? I can only find door, windscreen, trunk and back window rubbers. Thinking of taking the rolla off the road in the next couple of months to strip back for a nice new paint job and cut out the rust in the cursed rear quarter!

Cheers mate!

I used daryll from sa whitewalls. He was a bit of an older bloke but knew the difference between a good job and a bad job

Car was off the road for a few months due to needing a new clutch. In that time I put a nice Jvc stereo with splits in the rear, 4 inch 3 ways in the front and a sub and amp (will take photos later) Thought I would treat the car to some whitewalls. Really sets it off and was very cheap. If anyone in sa wants their wheels done I can give the number. very professional job

Tossed up whether or not to do it, but I put on some fender mirrors. Found a set of venetians. I much prefer the black set to the white I took apart the dash cluster and inserted led globes and replaced the "nipple" style plastic over the speedo and instrument gauges with flat Perspex. I also replaced the clock for a tacho that matches the rest of the dash.

Finally! A circuit! Let there be light! Once I had power I discovered that the central locking and alarm all work perfectly! I didn't even know it had central locking

Found a set of three fake modgies in bad shape. put in a little elbow greese and time, came up a treat. thought they looked cool but couldn't find another one to match so looked around for a different set.

A friend of mine donated his rusted out ke70. that is where I got the 4k and 4 speed to put in the ke30

Hey everyone, just wanna share some pics of my rolla from when I got it, to how it is now. Picked it up as a rolling shell for a pretty penny with intentions to slowly make it nice. How it looked when I saw it for the first time in the person I bought it off's backyard Interior looked nice and neat- no cracks in the dash or rips in the seats, all nice and original This is the day I picked it up Having no motor in it made it a bit easier to take off the trailer on my own!

Hey guys got it all sorted and running today! Turns out of the three clutch cables I have (all second hand) on closer inspection, were three varying lengths. I used the longest one and it was no good so I put he shorter one in and it works fine. I put a straight edge against the flywheel and it was nice and flat so I didn't bother getting it machined. Battery went flat- another problem, but I may need to adjust the c clip position a bit more but it seems not too bad thanks for the advice.

basically i have replaced my clutch and pressure plate and when i put the gearbox back on and everything back together, when i depress the clutch pedal it wont disengage the clutch. i have a new cable too so it isnt the cable that is stretched. i checked the gearbox and i can move the clutch fork with my hand very easily so it has got me thinking it is something to do with the clutch plate/flywheel. any advice?

If you do a quick google search for toyota paint codes there is one website that has the year code and model

Well I got around to dropping the gearbox and taking the pressure plate off.. Turns out I got the 21 spline clutch plate instead of the 19.. Does anyone want this one? It's all a learning experience I suppose but something I stupidly overlooked! Just to clarify, does anybody know what way the bearing should be facing in the carrier? I have the writing facing the rear of the car. Thanks
